A simple, sincere account of the Nativity story. It captures St Luke's straightforward mood in his gospel. The sense of poverty and a child born in a manger is so relevant today.

A lovely and well presented Christmas poem. I like the aura of Christmas magic present and your imagery, visuals and artistic presentation.
I enjoyed your rhyming and flow. A very well chosen artwork to complement the poem. A wish you a lot of luck in the contest, it should do very well.

Thank you.

A beautiful entry for the Christmas poem contest. It flows smoothly, and you have rhymed it successfully. My only suggestion is to change "was to conceive the Son of God" to "had conceived the Son of God", as she already had conceived Him and was ready to give birth. Best wishes for your entry.

This is a flowing abab quatrain poem that tells the story retold every year at this time. It is the story of Jesus's birth and how the world visited the stable and how believers try to get close to Him with praise and thanks.
Good luck in the contest.
Keep writing and stay healthy

An early Christmas poem about the nativity here and I enjoyed the sentiments and rhymes. We have decorations up in my town already and the spirit of Christmas is very much inside our words here, love Dolly x

The story about Jesus' birth never gets old through the ages and will never will. I won't get tired reading about our Messiah, and I thank you for sharing with us a poem celebrating how great our Lord is. Thanks for sharing.

The Christmas story never gets old. It was a nice retelling. The rhyming was solid. I had to read it a few times to find the rhythm. If you'd like to try make the reader's job a little easier, consider cutting/adding syllables to create a more consistent meter among the lines. The poem's form is similar to a sonnet, so I think I went into it with an expectation that every line would have the same number of beats, which may be more on me than you.

This is perfect for the Christmas poetry contest. What I liked most about the poem is how it starts in the first stanza without naming Mary and Joseph but a "small procession" and the "pregnant bride." Then you reveal who it is in the second stanza and then cover the star and Epiphany, too. Then the final stanza takes a step back to the present and how the whole Christmas story affect us over the millennia...Best wishes in the contest!
