a fine poem that carries us into the mind of a prostitute and paints a picture of hopelessness. Solid rhymes. I also like the shortened lines at the end. Short sad statements help to create the feel of having completely given up. The choice in pictures might be viewed as controversial - a woman of ethnicity contemplating. May want to find one that more obviously represents the subject of your poem.

Sadly, this is a very true depiction of life for so many in our modern world.

Oh, that's so sad! I hope those women can get off the drugs and turn their lives around. They need to be reminded that they are precious to God and should consider themselves more worthy than to live such a life. Well done character study!

I really enjoy the simplistic nature of the poem whilst also facing/discusses a topic like this.
However, It may be too simplistic for others - I've been told simplicity is a controversial topic in the writing scene aha.

Addiction is a voracious beast, it causes what is potentially a healthy, happy human being into something akin to a subhuman monster, that will cause, what appears to be normal into something only existing, not living, into something sub human, beautifully written Jen, excellent post, well done, blessings Roy

Poetry has left the interpretation of the reader. I understand this poem is about a young woman with little value for who she is. Sadly it speaks volumes to many girls out there who are addicted to love, sex, or drugs. I found your poem to be very powerful. Thank you for sharing.
