That is a very sad story and a good social commentary. A great description of the woman of the streets and her wanting money to get a fix. Wonderful visuals and imagery, great presentation and artwork.
I can just picture that woman as if she were here, in the room. Excellent visuals.

I think you have written a very powerful poem, full of imagery, that is indeed a sad character study. I would like to offer a suggestion as food for thought. It's only food for thought; please free to zap it in the microwave if you don't like it.
The next to last line: maybe...She gives no name...
Excellent work. Terry.

A sad story, isn't it? I am a bearer of the gospel of Christ, and had many women in my care who had turned away from this lifestyle and met the savior, Jesus Christ. There is a way out in Him. Sending you my best today as always for this stunning work, Jen.

This is a well-written rhyming poem. The text is a great size. The message is stark and goes directly to the point. It makes my mother's heart weep because this is someone's daughter who has lost her way. It made me sad, and creating an emotional response is what poetry should do. Perhaps decrease the spaces between your verses a bit.
The visual fits well. Thanks for sharing.

Ciao !
It s sad that this is the reality of many girls, women( and men too).
Some ladies are even very beautiful yet they end up selling their bodies.
It's also a dangerous trade with so many weirdos around.
Yesterday on national news , I heard three were killed with a knife in the same area.. police say a deranged might be at large.

You certainly painted a vivid picture with your poem. A scene we've all seen way too often, lives and bodies sacrificed to survive or cop a buzz, or sometimes find a gas-station burrito and a warm bed for the night. Thanks for sharing. Outstanding!

Ouch. This is likely true for many people. Hopefully, not you. Be well, and happy thoughts for today through year's end. ..........................................................................

Yes, it's such a sad state of affairs and facts. The deprivation of so many women who see no other means but to sell their own body to feed their habit is depressing. Thanks for sharing. Ulla:)))

What a heartbreaking truth. The drug is sought for a touch of euphoria and in the end, the user discovers the complete opposite. A wolf in sheep's clothing meant to destroy the life of those who are tempted.

Night Shift" is an excellent short poem that attempts to capture the experience of a sex worker seeking johns on a dismal wintry street. Regardless of one's stance of sex work, marketing your alluringly displayed body in a cold drizzle to earn money is a poignant experience, and a poem about this activity could be stronger if it selected additional and specific features of a street prostitute's experience - ugly, crude johns, junky cars, cold rain dripping down between one's would-be sensuous breasts, a splash of icy snow from a passing car.
