Heather this is a wonderful tribute to a spouse.
The last line in the following stanza was perfectly placed:
When I'm gone
remember just the happy me.
Don't be sad, don't waste your tears,
I've had a wondrous life...
despite being me.

Your poem makes me think above all of the British Memsahibs who died far from home in appalling conditions in the heat of India they couldn't tolerate. Thanks for making us remember. Kate xx

You know what, Melissa? I chose this poem because in others he uses more Spanish words and I don't understand most of them. The vocab is so different over here... All the same I like the way he writes very much.
