"Is It" is a seven line poem in free verse that plays with the question of what is and isn't, assertions that some philosophers claim cannot truly be made; the result is that all identifications of existence are tentative at best. And then, the back and forth discussion so dominated by a few words that are made similar by their containing i's and t's makes this poem into a bit of a dictional triumph. I think it a five; it may be a six; we really can't know which rating to pick.

I thought this was a very clever response to a most difficult prompt. I honestly don't think I could do this. I hope your clever and interesting poem wins lots of votes. I enjoyed it. ~ MM

It is interesting, Author... oops, oh well, I'm just not going there. ;)
I only have one problem with this poem Author, and that is the overdependence on 'it', 'is', and 'isn't'. Once you got going with your thoughts about thinking, it came together better.
This is truly the terrific try. ;)

This is simple, but I liked the density of the sound patterns here, all the repeating 'it and is' sounds, great echoing effects, and great rhythms. This is a new way to make music in language and I've done lots of things along these lines before. It's fun, and stretching the form at the same time. Take a look in my portfolio at a book I have in there called Word Games. In there is a poem of the same name very much like this. estory

This is interesting and you are right, it takes time to think and thinking is all it is cracked up to be. I know because I think a lot about a lot of different subjects including why you would post this almost nonsense poem to win a contest. But anyway, I will keep my thoughts mainly to myself and say I love the beautiful picture of the tree. Thanks for sharing and for letting me share.

I don't really find sense in these style of poetry, unless we hit on some great ideas with the 2 starting letters. But I realise it's hard to get it nicely. You have succeeded in doing that.
Great job

As in, I think that I shall never see, a poem as lovely as a tree. What a fitting image to accompany this poem. The decision was near genius. At first I thought, "What the heck?" but then I got it. very nice.
