Excellent entry for the haiku club challenge. I love the presentation. The haiku is well done. Good syllables count and connection between lines.

What a pretty tree and I will try to remember the name. Maybe I will see one next fall in my hike. Can human eat the fruit?
Well done and a nice entry for the club

June,
A very nice poem for this Haiku club entry. Learned something new from your author's note.
You paired your words and illustration in an attractive combo. Coloring scheme is good too!

This is a very well written poem you have penned about sassafras. That is very interesting about the juice and the wild turkeys. We see a lot of wild turkeys here. You used very good descriptive words. Best wishes in the contest. Teri

Yes, sassafras is an ingredient in root beer. By itself sassafras beer has a lighter and more lemony taste. I actually prefer it. Thanks for dropping by to share your thoughts!

That was beautiful! Do you know that sassafras is one of the main ingredients if root beer? It is said to gave some medicinal qualities.
A well written haiku with all the trimmings. Excellent imagery, visuals and artistic presentation.

I enjoyed your tree haiku. I had heard of the sassafras tree, but I didn't know what flavor the roots were, so you taught me something. Thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you.
