I literally laughed at this post. It was great. Your character caught the solicitor totally off guard and unable to respond.

I liked how she kept going and changed the physical issues constantly, leaving the caller speechless. Good job.

Haha. Telemarketers have a terrible job to do. They talk to people who don't want to talk to them unless some lonely and suffering person like this one. I bet he wouldn't call back soon.

Well done.

Thank you. I agree, I don't think I would want their job. They must have thick hides to do this kind of work.

There's a lot to digest in this short story. I mean that in a good way! Also, if I'm not way off base, it sounds to me like you've had a herniated disc or something similar that's hitting nerves. I'm thinking this because of my own back issues. I had two surgeries for herniated discs and now have scar tissue that is wrapped up so much in the nerves that they will not do another surgery. Typically, only those that have ever felt a disc hit a nerve are the only people who can describe the feeling and pain. Nice Job! Thanks for sharing!!

Thank you. You're right, there is nothing worse than nerve pain. I did have herniated discs and the surgery really helped. Do you still have a lot of nerve pain, or is ir under control?

Unfortunately, I do. My L4/L5 disc was the first surgery, and I wasn't having terrible pain afterward for the time I was out of work. However, trying to do the right thing I got back to work, and it came back and worse...my L5/S1 herniated, and the second surgery was
6 months later. Due to scar tissue, they absolutely won't operate again because it is wrapped up in the Cauda Aquina or the nerve bundle near the bottom of the spine. But carry-on always, that's all we can do. Thanks for asking!

Ha, ha, your story made me laugh! It kept me engaged and laughing. I wondered what Mrs. Jones would say next. Thanks for sharing, and good luck in the contest.

You did a great job with your contest entry, Prettybluebirds.
The theme was perfectly expressed in dialogue only as
required. I laughed all the way through this as I could imagine
the telemarketer not being able to get a word in. The dialogue
was well thought out, made great sense, and was funny.
Thanks for sharing and best wishes in the contest, Jan

Thank you. I know it's early for the contest, but I had this idea and wanted to write it down before I forgot it. Hugs.

Hahaha. Now that was funny. I like the laundry list of ailments. I work in a pharmacy and I started to have flashbacks when the subject of irritable bowel came up. I get to hear this all day long. Lol. I'm guessing she was gonna talk about cleaning up hairballs next. Great job on this. Good luck in the contest. Gretchen

Thank you. Yeah, it's to bad the guy hung up when he did. It's late and I'm getting tired, so I decided to end it there. Hugs.

Excellent! I enjoyed the cadence and flow of your story and could visualize the uncomfortableness of the telemarketer! Great job. I hope this is a work of fiction; not for the caller but for the imaginative writer. I'm going to try this approach!
