Neat! I can relate to the old guy in the mirror, staring back, as if asking, "What in the hell are you looking at?"
Liked your last line, I think we all like to think that we are still holding on to some of our long-gone youth, I mean, why not?
You are only as old as you feel, admit to, think you are, and none of that is true.

I started avoiding mirrors 20 years ago. The reflection I'd see couldn't be me, that once thought to be handsome person had become old and ugly. Thanks for sharing.

Probably a smart move. I still look because a return image ... unflattering or not... means someone with my name is still walking around. Happy Halloween!

Well, Sir, I am right there with you, perhaps a little younger since you were in Vietnam, and they stopped the draft right before I turned eighteen. I don't know who that old Fokker is in my mirror, but his body is not keeping up with his mind! Cheers! I wish I has a six. Hell, I wish I had a lot of things.
