What as shocker that I'm so far behind, huh? NO worries, I'll chip away until I catch up! I, too, wondered what a teatotaler would have bourbon in his desk drawer--it seems incongruous. (It's the little things that trip me up.)

I wish I had some idea who Bennie was before he came bounding into the story, but I know you'll get to that.

Miss Trainor would not last five minutes if I were the bank manager! Discretion is essential!

(Although she's precious to read about and I'm envisioning her returning to that room and hoping to find a bauble or two that was not recovered in Lance's haste!)

Super packed chapter!

You've educated me today, my friend and I will have to go back and make a change in Lance's drinking habits. I always thought a teatotaler was someone who drank very small amounts, not that the abstained completely. My bad!

I always thought it was TEAtotaler!

Seems it's TEE? Obviously I spelled it wrong in my review!

    Someone who totally abstains.

You are not bad. You are human!

I thought it was teatotaler too! Guess that glass of wine takes me out of that category. LOL

An interesting and fast-paced chapter. It seems like Lance is in trouble with Miss Trainor, and maybe Bennie will not be an asset either. One suggestion: a teetotaler does not drink alcohol, so why would he have a bottle and a glass in his desk? Sorry I'm behind in reading; working to get caught up soon. Blessings. Carol

I read the chapters out of sequence somehow, but it doesn't matter. This one is great to read also. Beside his Cuz causing potential troubles, the bank lady could also. Great job. Shirley

Wow, Carol, this a fast paced chapter, but I can understand why Lance is in such a state. He's playing a very dangerous game he and now he's about to implicate Bennie in it as well. Now what? Ulla:)))

Well, though it is obvious the secret is unraveling quickly, I think there is more to discover and the trail of the diamonds will affect so many.

Thank you for reading and enjoying.

It sounds like Lance is pretty sure he is in deep trouble. I would imagine the lady at the back can't wait to tell everything she saw to everyone who will listen and if nothing else that is sure to get Lance in trouble.

Wow. This is another action filled chapter. I enjoy reading it. I don't get why Lance reacted so strongly when he found out the contents of the safety deposit box in the vault. Jewries are common in this kind of boxes.

You need to introduce Bennie.

Well done.

First and foremost, I want to thank you for continuing to read and enjoy the story. You put a smile on my face. I appreciate your time and your thoughtfulness.

Sorry for the delay but we have just had our 7th death in our family and close friends this year and it's taking a serious toll on all of us. Thank you for understanding.

Apologize for the standard post.... Hugs, Carol

Ack! I kept wondering why Lance kept pouring the jewels everywhere. Now that the nosey Trainor saw everything, he's in more trouble. But shouldn't Lance just send the jewels to the destination as requested? I guess the problem is what his conscious tells him about revealing the contents of the heist. Something tells me calling Bennie won't make his decisions any easier.

What indeed has Lance gotten himself into? I love the suspense you've created with this chapter, Carol. I'm not sure what to think of Miss Trainor, but I think she's trouble. Can't wait for the next installment.

"but whom (who) could he trust?"
