We are supposed to learn from the past yet here we are in 2022 and America and Russia are still fighting for supremacy and Ukraine is their battle field.
Remembering Soldiers fallen is a frequent theme on fanstory.
Their sacrifice and the lost their families have to deal with.
This is the first time I read someone mentioning : lost potential .
It is a great lost for all of mankind.
All those minds could have contributed in their own way in making this world a better place.
This war in Ukraine is madness and is crippling Europe .
The biggest lie was that Russia had eyes on Europe. So America and NATO had to stop Russia in Ukraine.
Let s be honest The West /NATO has been expanding towards Russia since 1952
Turkey (1952), Germany (1955),
Spain (1982), the Czech Republic,
Hungary and Poland (1999), Bulgaria,
Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania,
Slovakia and Slovenia (2004), Albania
and Croatia (2009), Montenegro
(2017) and North Macedonia (2020).
All these countries that became members of the EU /NATO from 1999 onwards should have remained neutral , they were a natural barriere between The West and Russia.
This war was in the making for decades.
America invested 8 billion dollars already in Ukraine in 2014.

Russia after Ukraine would invade Europe? That's laughable
Russia can't even win in Ukraine.. it's army is disorganised .. at least 50.000 Russian soldiers have died already.
Zelensky keeps demanding more arms , more money , more medical equipment
but where do all these weapons go?
It's like filling a black hole.
And it's draining Europe s wealth.
The people in Europe want peace and are protesting in the streets but our leaders continue to support Zelensky and the war in Ukraine will continue because America wants it to go on.
Biden is using the war in Ukraine to destroy Russia s military and economy.
Biden yesterday said he won't sit and talk to Putin.
And Zelensky will continue to fight until Donbas and Crimea are once again Ukraine.
With that attitude any possible peace talks are doomed.

OK, I accept your rant. My poem took on a different theme. Even Russian soldiers who have died in the Ukraine conflict have lost the opportunity to live and enjoy a long life. Their friends and family grieve for them.

This is a good entry to the 5-7-5 contest. The text is a great size. The message is clearly stated. It's a memorial that could have easily had my brother's name on it. He's a Vietnam vet. The visual fits perfectly. Good luck in the contest.

We all thank your brother for his service. Pleased this contest entry relates to your personal story.
All my poems are 22 point type in bold text and a serif font. Alignment of text is centered, except for my Lune-type poems. Most often I use FanArt for my illustrations; for the one you just reviewed is an exception.
