John, This hits home for me as my mother died suddenly leaving four children from 13 to 6.
This is a beautiful poem full of love and emotion. You wrote this not only from your mom but also to comfort those who have lost their moms.
Best wishes and regards,
Mary

Thank you, Mary. You definitely understand the meaning of my poem because you have lived it. I'm the youngest of six and only 13 when my mother died. She left an indelible imprint of joy and love on my life that has lasted for the last 60+ years. I appreciate your most gracious review.

This poem expresses a lot of emotion and feelings. A mother regrets not being able to say goodbye to her son, but in the poem, sounds proud of him and lets him know she loves him. This is a heartfelt entry. Best wishes in the contest.

Author, you've hit me so close to home I'm sitting here in tears. Back in 2020, we lost my mom and my sister, 6 months apart. (neither to covid) Both had a son. My mom had asked for my brother one night as I was sitting with her, he was there the next morning. My sister never had the chance to say goodbye to her 4 children. 3 girls, 1 boy. She had a sudden heart attack and was alone. We're all still a mess about it.
I've said it before, I'll say it again... FS needs to give out way more 6s! I never have enough.

I am so sorry for the loss of your mother and sister. I can't imagine the sadness and grief you are experiencing. Just know that you and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers. Your story is worth more to me than any number of stars FS has to offer. God bless you.

This poem, Message from Mother, is one we would all want to get from those whom we have lost and wish we could know their thoughts still. Nice poem.

Very nicely done. Let me ask, frm whose perspective is this to be read. A mom speaking to God or to her son, who is how old. Oh, stop Tom. Just enjoy the read. I did.

It's from the perspective of a mom to her son. He was 13 when she died; he's now 77. Your comments made me smile, and I appreciate you taking the time to make them.

It's a great poem. Nice tribute to a mother. The choice to live is not ours. Our birth and death are recorded in God's huge journal. I find this very touching. This is heartfelt. Thanks for sharing. Wishing you a wonderful day.

It is often hard for the person who's dying to let go. You expressed this well here. However, your poem confused me slightly because the narrator was addressing two different people. Kate xx

This is a touching poem. It's the youngest child who had the least amount of time with a parent when the parent is called to Heaven suddenly. It is important to remember the love. Best wishes in the contest!

I love you picked up on the "youngest child" aspect. I was blessed to have experienced her love on this earth for only a short while. She was letting me know that although she may not be here, her love still is. Thank you for your review.
