Can you imagine what it looked like when the earth quaked and the rocks were split open, the graves opened, and the saints who were sleeping were raised from the dead? What a sight that must have been. Wonderful poem.

I love the artwork you chose for this poem, Roy. I don't think, however, He was naked. That robe was His outer garment. And as you put it, the curtain tearing was a really big deal. No longer would we need an earthly priest, but we can go boldly into God's presence and make our petition known. God bless you.

I am sure there was much rejoicing in heaven when the curtain was torn. It signified access into God's very presence and the fulfilment of His atoning sacrifice. Thanks for sharing this thoughtful one.

Hello Roy,
Well done on your historical poem. I especially liked the part about heaven's inhabitants laughing as Jesus rose. I appreciate the comments at the bottom of the post too. I think people often overlook the different things that happened at his death. It was all a miracle. Thanks so much for sharing.
Have a blessed day.

Wow, what a great poem. I loved the author notes. I think there were Jewish-style under-garments, but then again, we weren't there for historical events. We all need a reminder of these events every Sunday. Thank you for posting.

Praise the Lord!!! This is a really great poem you have penned about the tearing of the veil. No ordinary man could have done that. Only our precious Lord! You used great descriptive words and very good imagery from the art work you chose. Great scripture also. Thanks for sharing! Blessings, Teri

This is a well written poem about the freedom from sin we received at the death of Jesus. It reminds us we can fight the evil around us with love and faith.
Keep writing and stay healthy

I enjoyed reading your poem. Very well written. Nicely done. The rhyming that you used and the descriptive words made it stand out to me. The illustration was a nice touch and went very well with the poem itself. Thank you for sharing.

Fantastic writing, my friend :) I really enjoyed this one. I learned something new today. I did not know about the soldiers gambling away Jesus's clothes. He sacrificed so much for our sins.
You are always teaching me something new.
Thanks for sharing!
Always your fan,
Shana :)
