Well, I had a few minutes and just thought I'd drop in to see what I've missed. Knowing damn well that I don't get notice of your contest entries. Wish I wasn't all out of stars, but glad I got to read it just the same. :-)

Congratulations again on your great win! And the 100 bucks. I've checked your profile three times today wanting to be the first to add my piece. Maybe tomorrow. I just enjoy everything about you? You make me smile! Hugs

This is an excellent poem concerning a problem that hits so many of us as we age. We try to maintain our memory, cosseting it, tricking it, but in the end we reach the point where nothing works any more. I think 'worry' is a rather a weak emotion to describe how this makes us feel. It panics me, to be honest. Kate xx

haha. I can relate to this! I call it getting older. But I love how your poem shares how it makes you feel. As, yes, it's definitely something that impacts our lives. Well done!

"Worrying About Memory Loss" is too journalistic a title for this brief funny poem. The author uses a summary style to list the preoccupations she uses to keep her memory on track; I think it might have been funnier if she replace the summary part of the poem with more examples of specific things she must remember, like her "brolly," which taught me a slang term for umbrella. It would be hard to keep the poem as short if concrete examples of necessary memory items were specific, and rhyming would probably be harder. But it might have made the poem exceptional.

This poem, Worrying About Memory Loss, is one we may all have for one reason or another. The fear of forgetting is a feeling that becomes for real each day.
