I really enjoyed reading this poem. Your words are so true. The sepia photo that you have chosen really enhances your words. I wish you lots of luck in the competition. Jen.

Beautiful poem, very true in theme. You've expressed the nostalgia for the past very well, with your series of understandable and relatable reasons for it. Very thoughtfully crafted, an excellent contender. Best wishes for your entry.

enjoyed this poem very much, especially the words:
But you can't go back, no, you can't go back -
the road to the past is a narrow track.
I have so often wanted to press the 'do over' button... Kate xx

We cannot change the past and we hope to learn that the future can be shaped by making good decisions, but we tend to make the same mistakes again in life. Our memories are a mix of regret and joy, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

Great piece of poetry!!!
It's the sole reality, in this world of "friction and strife", that one can only find solace in memories and thoughts of lovelier times. I really enjoyed the free flow of emotions.
Great work!

This is a good entry to the Emotions contest. The text is a great size. The message of nostalgia is built upon from first verse until the last verse. The visual fits well. Selecting a visual with a Memory Lane Street sign is a clever way to connect your visual to your poem.
In this line I think you need the adverb form of sore} sore misses} should be sorely misses. Good luck in the contest.

This was a very beautiful and thought provoking poem to read. It was well written. The rhyming throughout the poem made it just seem to flow, and very easy and enjoyable to read. The descriptive words that you used, and the imagery that the poem created. Very well done. Thank you for sharing.

This is very nice and very true. We can't go back to yesterday. The road of life can be long, and the journey for many has been a hard one. So many people we miss that have gone before us.

I think you have done a great job capturing the emotion of sadness.

Great entry.

This poem, Memory Lane, looks nostalgically at where we were and what we miss about youth and that innocent freedom. Nostalgia is loss, and must be accepted that time moves only one direction. Still, it's not that it's gone, it's that it happened that counts.
