Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level

The things that bring comfort are effectively portrayed here in these stanzas - a variety of wide ranging and life enhancing activities especially through the darker days of winter- no screens mentioned ! hurrah!

I am blessed living in the mountains at 700m.

    It?s chestnut time

I don?t like eating them not even roasted but I love to collect them and give them away.

The six star review came as a surprise , thank you for the lovely gift 🎁

    Keep safe!

    😂

    I live in Europe

My stone house is perched at 700 m

    I?m definitely blessed (wink)

Thank you for reading and reviewing my wee poem!

Does the "wee" tell me it's Scotland in Europe? Or Switzerland? A Nordic state?

    Italia!🇮🇹

There are some English words that I find cute ?.

Wee ?sounds cute to my ear rather than small /short

    It sounds more poetic too.

Aah. Been to the Amalfi Coast, Sorrento, Pompei, Roma and Florence. Beautiful.

Sorrento, a gem embedded in a steep slope 😍

Roma , is like taking a time machine and going back to the Impero Romano.
    I love History.😋

Pompei is eerie , I visited it when I was a teen.

Firenze I have not visited ( sigh)

I live in the North of Italy , lago Maggiore a stone s throw from Switzerland.

    Lago di Como ( 40 km) e Milano ( 80km) are close.

My father was born in Sondrio at the foot of the Alps ( Valtellina) . From this regione some of the best grapes are grown :Sassella , Inferno, Paradiso

My mother was born in The Hague (Netherlands)

I?m glad you have a lovely memory of my country.

I have never been to America but I have seen that Nature is very beautiful there.

As I read the first stanza of your poem, a smile came to my face as well. Fires in the fireplace are one of the best things about colder weather, all curled up under a blanket staring into the flames. Music and nature are also some of the ways I find comfort. There is always something beautiful to be found if you look for it.
Thanks for sharing, and good luck in the contest.

It s work but I love the sound and the roar when you put a new log in and the fire devours it.

Also I love to turn the lights off at night and from my couch watch the fire dance and glow.

One of my cats loves to lay on the granite mantle piece.. I put a towel so he can stretch out on it.

I have cast iron radiators hanging on my stone walls but the warmth of the fireplace is something special.

There is beauty everywhere yet some people can?t be bothered even once to catch the sun rising.

I live at 700m near woods and pine forests .. I am blessed( smile)

    Thank you for sharing

    Keep safe!

This is a good entry to the "What Brings You Comfort" contest. The text is a nice size. The message is clearly presented. I loved your closing stanza. It sounded so relaxing and is the perfect ending to your poem. If you folded the paper dragon visual, it too is good. Thanks for sharing and good luck in the contest.

Glad my words made you relax .

Origami is a lovely art .. hopefully soon I will be able to do the dragon in the pic .. I have done others but less complicated.

    Take care!

It was a good writing. Origami is a wonderful form of art. I bought books to teach myself, but never mastered it well.

It took me three days to figure out the first fold from the book I bought ..I didn't have a computer yet

I got that in Dec 2010.

I want to create my own Noah's Ark with all the possible animals.

Wow! _ Noah's ark is very ambitious. Main thing just find some joy in whatever you are doing.
