There can, as you pointed out, be many reasons for writing, and it is often difficult to pinpoint exactly what motivates a writer the most. Of what drives you, I found the words:
'I must' and 'to communicate' the most interesting. Kate xx Well done on placing.

This is the first of these I've felt a direct connection to - that drive to write, that underlying imperative that can't be safely ignored. Of course you have other reasons too, but that opening captured me. We are, in some ways, but servants to ourselves.

Well done my faithful Aussie, save for one item. Do you really use a pen? Maybe in a daily journal as you travel through mundacity but the keyboard is the modern equivalent. (I had to write something.)

I often start with a pen or pencil, yes, especially for poetry. I can write a story straight onto the keyboard when the flow is right, but very occasionally jot my ideas in a notebook first. This one was done in half an hour, straight to keyboard. Thanks for reviewing. How did you know it was me?
