That was a wonderful memory for a grandma. I know how special such memories are. It is a well written piece, worthy of six stars. Best of luck in the contest. Evi

Thank you so much Evi, especially for your lovely words, good wishes and an extra star, but also for reviewing when it had already expired. That means a great deal to me.

From your notes: This is what love is. It's the value of the gift to the giver, not the price tag.
From me (reviewing): This is what a day in one's life is, so special, and you captured it beautifully. I have no sixes left this week, but this is most deserving. Flawless (like a sequin).

What a lovely story, Wendy. It must have been wonderful to be there with all those four-year-old children gathering around you, appreciating your presence and help with their art work. But the sequin from your own granddaughter would indeed be the best. Thanks for sharing. Good luck in the contest.

So lovely, Wendy. You not only wrote a stellar piece, but the beauty of the sequin and your adroit telling of your day with your little grandgirl melted my heart. I love this story! So well done. Good luck.

Thank you very much for your beautiful words, Melissa, and also for the high rating with six shining stars! (Almost as precious as the one sequin! Lol.) They are greatly valued and appreciated, as are the good wishes.

Beautifully written and a joy to read. Families need these special times in each others' lives to build memories and connections. Too much separation and the young have no opportunity to leave to share themselves with others. thanks so much for sharing this story. ann

I'm sorry I don't have a six for this one. How blessed you are though, and received a sequin from a princess and praise, a wonderful day to write about. It'll be in your heart forever, I know. How sweet is your granddaughter. A wonderful story that has blessed my day!

This was such a great story! I can't imagine being the only grandparent (or aunt, in my case) on campus. I imagine that you really must have felt like a queen! Thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you.

Thanks Jessi. That's because it wasn't officially Grandparents' Day, as they'd changed it to the following week. But they have an Open Door policy, they told me, so I can go when it suits! Next time I feel the urge to paint rainbows I know where to go .... Lol.

This is a beautiful story. I could easily envision the classroom and students. When I taught school, we had grandparents day, but the school allowed parents or grandparents to visit at any time. Quite often young children picked a wild flower or found something sparkly on the playground, and wanted to save it as a gift. I'm sure Emma was thrilled that you valued her gift. It made her feel special. Great story.

Thank you so much. Yes, they told me they have an Open Door policy, so I can visit any time, which is nice to know. Glad you enjoyed this story.

Nicely told. That certainly was a special time. I'm glad that it made a great day for you. Gifts from four-year olds are always special. I like your idea of a special dish.

This is just lovely, Wendy and what a special day to have shared and now locked away in memories. What a treasure, a single sequin can be when given and received with love. I'm imagining the expressions on your faces, the giver, the receiver. Thanks for sharing, a lovely read. Cheers
