Nice job with the rhythm here, I liked the juxtaposition of long and short lines, and the alliteration and echoing rhyme effects were well constructed. It really seems to capture the energy of the creative process, the mysterious nature of that energy, the flow of it, and how it gets chanelled into the paintings and poems we create. estory

Your words are imaginative and awe inspiring. I don't quite understand all of this, but it is awesome writing. Sorry, I'm not much of a metal fan, but I'll try to get to the video. Evi

Thank you, Evi :-). The poem's the main event and I'm really happy you liked it - I realise metal is a bit much for most.

I'm a bigger fan of yours than I was yesterday, that's for sure. There are changes in rhythm in this poem, unexpected polysyllabic play that are reminding me of Amanda Gorman. Exciting to the ear, and worth reading a second time aloud. Well done!

Thank you so much :-). Above all, I love to play with words, and I enjoy trying to effect time changes. I'm so happy you liked it!

There are so many mad genius poets on this site! Fantastic work. It reminds me of a Frosty at Wendy's. No, not the plain vanilla bore fest. The chocolate one. Rich and so smooth that it makes your tummy smile.
Good job Master Poet!

Bravo! I'm out of sixes but love your poem.
Who are we without the boundless imagination that lifts us out of boxes?
I've never heard of Epica, but spent thirty minutes listening to them on YouTube before coming back to review.
It's an immersive experience, falling into their music ... Symphonic free falling!
Very much like the best of poetry...
Happy to see this fine new post from you!

Thank you, my friend :-). I'm happy you got swept into an Epica spiral. They're probably a tad too heavy for most, but I love the complexity of their music. My work life has finally calmed down a bit, so this was a good way back in.

Daily life and work demands have a nasty habit of pulling us away from writing. It's always nice to get back to it!

That video was quite something - performance, drama, stage and sound effects as well as music and lyrics to think about, I enjoyed it, most of it at least. I probably don't understand your poem fully even after several readings, but the video did unlock and explain some of the ideas and is reflected in the second and third stanzas. Unlocking the imagination is the key but the mystery of life may never be unlocked in ways we understand.

Thank you, Wendy :-). I don't think I'm capable of writing unambiguous poetry, lol, but this was very much about exploring thoughts and sharing them in the ways that feel appropriate so I'd say you understood just fine!

It is always difficult for me to really appreciate the talents of fine poetry writers. There are many nuances that the lay person misses and can't quite appreciate. I like your presentation and depth.

One does not stroll with easy steps through your poems, Michael. This poem demands frequent pauses (to consult the dictionary if nothing else). I could easily envision your poem converted into song lyrics. It has that vibe. Good job.

I'm not sure I totally understood it, but I liked it anyway. A little mystery is a good thing. Maybe it's about an acid trip. Maybe not. It was still an enjoyable read.

lol, thanks Cindy :-). I've never been on an acid trip, so I can't say for sure, but it was certainly a barmy ride through the auspices of imagination and thought strands!

Comment from Gloria ....
Excellent poem illustrating the process of the conscious mind opening itself to imagination in order to be congruent with the universe.
I listened to the magnificent symphony by EPICA. That would have been something to be in the music hall to hear and see. Superb musicians and performers.
Thank you for sharing.

Thank you, Gloria :-). I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'd love to see Epica live someday, but they need a large venue (or at least a large stage) and they've only ever played small places in the UK (I need to educate the English public! lol).
