A hurricane wouldn't be a picnic, (fortunately for me at least) they tend to happen in tropical places, but I do envy the places people live in, there are some incredible advantages. Beatifically written Nonet, well done, good luck, blessings Roy

Very well done! It is incredible sometimes what has to occur to put "mankind's" hubris in check. Here's to hoping we can do that before this planet is irreversibly ruined. Thank you for sharing such a poignant piece in the Nonet style. Excellent Job!

I am not sure where you live, but I live in South Florida.
When nature decides to flex her arm,
man's fragile things come to harm.
When she's angry, she doesn't play;
she just sweeps people's lives away.

Mankind's science has only advanced so far in his constant battle to deal with fierce storms and their effect on us. Ours science can now warn us of a storms threatened arrival, and sometimes they fool us and lose steam before they hit us, sometimes they arrive late, sometimes they change direction and hit other locations. The worse times are when they us directly as we said they would and some fool, thinking the science is incorrect and they wind up either losing everything and endangering the safety of rescue workers who have to try and save them.

Thank you for sharing this poem with us. Yes, no matter how high-tech we get, or powerful Mother Nature is still stronger and will remind us, not so gently. I enjoyed reading.

When nature vents its fury, there's ultimately little we can do but take the brunt of it and hope we see the other side. It has a great way of levelling the playing field, and any human hubris becomes irrelevant. I very much enjoyed.

Hi Sanku, what a great nonet for the contest. It's all over the news now, and the hurricane has certainly left many people without their homes now. Such is the might of Nature. She has certainly used all her might this year! Well done, my friend, and good luck in the contest! :)) Sandra xx

-Good artwork and nice presentation, Sanku.
-The syllable count is good.
-You have a good topic for your nonet.
-The imagery paints a good word picture of the hurricane
beginning with the alliteration and verb choices in line one.
-I like the lines about the hi-tech man and how he was helpless against the raging storm.
-Very good concluding lines show the impact the storm had on him.
-Good luck in the contest.

Great job on this Nonet; it read smoothly like a story, and the imagery created made me feel the devastation of the hurricane. Throwing the 'hi-tech' man into the poem made the hurricane feel more personal and accentuated the destruction of that monster. I felt his loneliness as he stood amongst the ruins. A timely write.

This is a wonderful rondeau that gives images of the effects of the hurricane on objects and people. It does show the power of nature.
Keep writing and stay healthy.
