I have yet to take a stab at writing a nonet, primarily because it is daunting to try to capture feeling and emotion under such restrictions. However, you've done it. I enjoyed reading it. I hope the subject of this poem is from your imagination and not someone you know.

nice poem about hurricanes and wrath of God, the sheer fury of nature unleashed and the hopelessness many of us feel after seeing the destruction these storms can cause.

Amazing Grace who is saved after a hurricane. Was this in your neck of the woods? Perhaps it is fiction. I hope so for your sakes. Across the world (take Florida for instance) terrible cost of lives and property. K xx

Florida hurricane?
Comment from GWHARGIS
It is amazing how we can be humbled by nature. This was full of the intense fury of a hurricane. I live on the Outer Banks of North Carolina and you captured it in the first two lines. Great poem. The devastation of wind and rain and storm surge is such a force. Gretchen

I love this. "High tech man who conquered skies". If only we could learn we are so small in this world, I think we would live much richer lives. Great job pulling out so much feeling.

The author's words were descriptive and creative. I found the words to
be expressed with anguish without control of the hurricane as the author states a "fury of nature". The poem flows and connects well. The
artwork is awesome and goes well with the words and theme of this poem.

Hi,
I've just read another poem about a hurricane and it's heartbreaking. I cannot begin to imagine how scary it must be.
As you say, even if technology has advanced incredibly quickly in this past few years, we're still helpless when it comes to natural disasters.
Thanks for sharing.

Yes, that's a sobering observation. Sometimes we think too much about our achievements ("hi-tech man who conquered skies") But the reality is that we are just tiny from the perspective of all creation.
Best wishes in the contest!

Thank you very much, Helen. When mother nature gets angry there is nothing we can do.
