What a thoroughly enjoyable read enhanced by the flow of the 'natural 'cowboy dialogue and with a heartfelt request to the Lord for more days to be added to his earthly life- just loved it and the font is superb -a winner!

As an aging cowgirl, I could relate pretty strongly to this cowboy poem. I thought you did a great job simulating the cowboy's manner of speaking and it was easy to follow and understand. My only concern was the word "thought" in the last line, because it looks too much like 'that' and was a bit confusing at first. I think you could spell it correctly without detracting from the dialect at all. But even with that slight distraction, I consider this poem a solid six and I enjoyed it very much. Thanks for the memories. ;p

I think the closer we come to leaving this world, the more we realise we haven't done all we set out to do. We are running out of time. I really enjoyed reading the chat you had with God. It was straight forward, you didn't ask for much, so let's see if you get your wish!! Well done, Willie. :) Sandra xx

Willie, there is no way that the Lord isn't going to hear this prayer, set to rhyme, filled with gratitude and a sprinkle of humor for good measure. Thanks for sharing this verse with us.

Hi Willie,
This is a well done poem/prayer. It flows well and uses the vernacular well. I think we all wish to go to a place we are comfortable in when we die. I like the picture too.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Joan

Very nice poem. I loved the simple words and the heartfelt prayer of the cowboy, seeking to find in heaven the things he enjoyed while living. I'm hoping there's a great golf course up there, myself.

Loved the picture and the font you chose as well. Great job!

Love the picture you have chosen and your poem is very well written. So glad the Lord listens to all our prayers, and cares about each and every one of us. Hope this cowboy gets his request.

I love this! From the cowboy dialect, to the cursive, to the excellent rhymes, to the pathos, you did a great job! You made your character feel very real, and created someone the reader enjoys rooting for.

Great stuff Willie. Brought it all together with a lot of horse sense. I can understand why you prefer poems that rhyme, you are excellent at the style. Ride on as they would say or is it write on.
