Wow :) I like the tenderness in your words. This plant has been almost humanized, it definitely feels more like a loved and respected family member than a houseplant.

they have been more loyal that's for sure. I get quite attached to plants, especially the ones that I have dragged around the province for 5 yrs then into the last 35 yrs or more. I cried for weeks over 1 gold fish in my pond. i'm a real softy if something or someone has entered my heart.
My cat 18.5 yrs old, passed away in Jan 2022 and now this one plant is not doing well. and it's the only one that is dangerous to pets nibbling on a leaf. I'm glad I have a starter plant in a vase. lol thxs for your review.

Many people do talk to their plants (and I myself have been known to do this!). I enjoyed your story, and send you good wishes, firstly for the recovery of your plant, and secondly for the contest!.

I can so easily relate to the narrator as I spend a lot of my time talking to my plants, striving to keep them healthy. I like how you personify the "dumb cane" and how she's able to diagnose what's wrong with it. Rod
