Deniz22,
This is an excellent short poem with a poignant message for those of us who think we know too much but do not always speak up. Your concluding line in the comments says it all.
"So for some, better to bask in unspoken greatness, rather than experience the slings and arrows of laboring with the unwashed masses."
Cheers,
Eugene

The last line had me howl with laughter. Either we assume they are wise or shy. Some are just daydreaming. That's how it is in my case. Attention span of a gnat. Lol. I liked the subtle humor in this and the formal feel to balance it. Great job. Gretchen

Hello Dennis,
I can't put my finger on it right now, but I believe Proverbs addresses the idea of being silent. Obviously, we can't sit back and be silent when evil things are being done all around us. I think it is largely because so many people don't speak out that we are suffering with the issues we are now. Too many people fear what others will say about them. Was it Edmund Burke who said that the only thing it took for evil to happen was for good people to stand by and do nothing? Not an exact quote I know, but true nonetheless. Have a blessed day.

I think you are saying what I said in my short explanatory forward; Balance is where it's at in the matter of speaking or not speaking. Thanks for commenting, Tom. God bless, Dennis

You made a great point with your poem, Deni222. I enjoyed
reading it and agree with y9ou. Great job with the rhyme scheme.
Your words read smoothly and were descriptive. Yes, there are
all types of thinkers (or not), and sometimes one will be surprised
what is offered (or not).
Thanks for sharing, Jan
