This is a well-written poem for this contest. I liked how you used words repeatedly in a line. It reads well rolling off the tongue, almost like a tongue twister. The font is a great size. The visual is cute and fits perfectly. Good luck in the contest.

Thanks so much Sandra, I truly appreciate that you were so insightful to what I was trying to do here. Lol, it was the messing up of the grammar was the most fun part of this poem. To make it more Dr Seuss like and repeat the words to make it sillier, all while trying to get a great message out there. Thanks so much my dear friend for you very kind comments.

Excellent entry for the Kiddies motivational poem writing prompt contest.

Good rhyme that doesn't sound forced. Easy for children to understand.

Nice presentation. Your words flow well and are very descriptive for a clear understanding.

Good luck in the contest.

This poem, Playing is Playful, is a really neat verse which sounds like a kid may have written it with that "good times are good" reasoning which is not easy to argue with. Fun and cool.

I think you have it just right, and children will understand what it means, probably more than us grown-ups, and least the ones that lost the feeling and excitement of childhood. Well done, this is a great contest entry. Good luck! :) Sandra xx

I like the line "treat your friends good and good friends they will stay".

It does read like a Dr. Seuss poem, and I think I child would have fun "tripping" across the words as you have written them.

Wishing you the best for the contest.

AS I began, I scratched my head asking what is it being said? So, I began over again and caught the vision you envisioned, and the some to join the joyful. Very wisely done.

Thanks so much Tom. I can understand why you would scratch your head and wonder about this mystery poet that you now know who I am. However I think you know me so well you probably always know. I truly appreciate that it hit and you were so insightful to what I was trying to do here. Lol, it was the messing up of the grammar was the most fun part of this poem. I hate auto spell change
    What I typed was redacted
I know not how but know I can spell better than it

Because I type so fast, if I don't proofread, because of autocorrect I am embarrassed at times for the things that it looks like I have said. There are times it works great so it is the only reason I haven't sent it backing. Hehe

As a former teacher who spent some years teaching in elementary schools, I have to say I found a lot in this poem to like. I think the messages were very clear and any child would certainly understand lines such as: "The joy that play brings is always so joyful," or "So playtimes are good times and good's always good." My only complaint would be the lack of punctuation. Even in second grade, we are trying to get across the importance of punctuation and how to use it correctly. I wish you much luck in this contest. Thanks so much Adonnna! I respect your opinion & writing so much that I have to ask you, are children, poems the exception here for punctuation?
When I was in College writing, the professor would have had a heart att if you handed him a paper w/o punctuation, so I have always been a stickler for even writing texts. But everyone here gave me such a hard time so I quit all except a few commas. TI appreciate your lovely review and comments, but I believe you were the perfect one to ask. Thank you in advance for your help w that.

I know some poets love to write with no punctuation and others use way too many commas, but there is a happy medium and I think punctuation serves a useful purpose. It makes the meaning more clear, so I prefer punctuation. When writing poetry, almost anything goes and is pretty much up to the writer, but with children, it makes sense to use what we expect them to use in their writing, so punctuation would be good.

I so appreciate your views on this, and with every other writing it is so mandatory for me. So it was hard when I stopped. Now that this contest is over, I am going to go in and add those. I do agree if we are teaching children other lessons, we can't leave them on the wayside with something so important. Thanks so much Adonna, as there are few that I respect their opinion and writing as much as yours.

Congratulations on the first place win, Debi! I'm not surprised. It was such a fun poem to read aloud. I know children would love it. MM

Thanks again Adonna! You are a sweetheart!

This is a poem that I think most children can and will understand and relate to. Neither the words, terms or phrases pose too much of a challenge to today's children. Therefore it is my belief that this is a perfect poem for children of all ages, six to sixty and beyond.

It is far too easy to to criticize that which we have not taken the time or made the effort to understand. Show me a perfect human, and he had better look like Jesus or I will think him a fraud.
