Good poem for the contest. I like the phrase: orange top-coats. Nice poem for the contest and good luck in the contest. I hope all is well with you and you have a great Fall.

Thank you so much, Theodore for your kind review and greetings! Happy fall to you!

Yes, you have a very different Autumn from us. Only in the higher regions or in the south do we have deciduous trees with their lovely colours. And Halloween is not widely accepted either! Your 5-7-5 comes to life, however and celebrates the US fall season well. Best wishes for your entry in the contest.

Love this short fun poem about fall. I especially like the line: "Arrayed in orange top-coats." You definitely capture the pumpkin season. Thanks for sharing and keep writing!

Verna,
What a unique and fun post! Some folks love, love, LOVE autumn -- my youngest daughter, for instance! She started decorating for fall toward the end of August! I said, "No, no! It's not time yet!"
She (and her hubby) just smiled and said they couldn't wait. They put out just a FEW things - and added more pretty much every day. You should see their house NOW - almost a month later. It's definitely 'in the spirit'!! hahaha
The orange top-coats is a clever turn of phrase that gives a really appealing image. Thanks!

I am more into autumn more than I am in Halloween. I love this time of year and the beautiful colors of orange, gold, and red. I have a pumpkin scented candle burning right now. I had a pumpkin latte for breakfast.
Thank you for sharing in my very best for the contest. Sending along my very best to you and yours as always, Sally XOs

Thanks so much. I love autumn, too, but I also am not into Halloween.

I love the personification of Autumn. "Arrayed in orange top-coats" conjures up the perfect image of those golden leaves adorning the trees, seemingly overnight! It is my favorite season. Your poem captured all the delight I find in Fall!

Happy Autumn!

That's so cute! Yes, those pumpkins really dress up in "orange coats" and then serve to decorate for autumn. I like the "Make way for pumpkins." Best wishes in the contest!

In my case, Fall did indeed "burst" forth after a string of warm Indian Summer days. The trees aren't yet "arrayed in orange top-coats," but that could come as soon as next week. Rod

Thanks for the excellent review. I am ready for fall, too!

You are a very talented writer. The image of fall is firmly shown in your words but the full strength is in the intro statement 'A fruit to welcome fall." That put a whole new depth to the poem. It isn't just a poem about the Thanksgiving season. It is about the season for giving thanks. Even God's fruit gives all thanks to God. Well written.

I enjoyed your 5-7-5 poem! You got the syllable count right, and the orange top-coats was a nice image. Thank you so much for sharing, and best wishes to you!
