It's entertsining, shows all creatures want to be free to do what they like. This poem has my "SEAL" of approval! (Smile)

Sometimes we need a bit of levity!

Thank you. I agree, not every post needs to be earth shattering or deep and meaningful.

Laughter is essential -- and therefore meaningful in a whole different way!

This poem, Shubert, presented with an extended essence formatting, tells the funny story of this frolicking finster having a fun day. He is a bit of a seal-ebrity.

I believe he was the seal found in a local pond here who succeeded in avoiding capture by divers and others. He had migrated from the ocean. When he had had enough fun, he left the pond and hobbled into the police station - and literally turned himself in! They fed him and notified the Mystic Aquarium who had originally tagged him. He is now back in the Atlantic Ocean. Cute little guy.

Yes, I was lying in bed watching the news and when I heard about his exploits, I couldn't stop thinking about him and decided to see if I could write a little poem to celebrate his moxie.

Nomi338, this poem was a great way to start a Monday. It made me chuckle. The verse is clearly stated and the visual fits perfectly. Thanks for sharing and have a blessed week.

I liked the alliteration. It is always amusing to hear about animals who somehow step outside their allotted sphere of life. One gives a little cheer.

Absolutely. This was a feel good story. Totally true, not one bit made up. Well Shubert's imagined thoughts and attitude was assumed.

Most animals and birds that I've run into are smarter then I am. A beautiful part of God's creation. What a wonderfully written poem.

Have a great day, and God bless.

Thank you Mike. In order to successfully coexist with man, an animal must be quick and cunning, else he will be quickly dead and possibly consumed.

Ha! I loved this nomi! It's amazing what type of life events inspires us and take us to places that are original and adorable, this piece has all the elements of both. I love Shubert!! Best, JohnC

Thank you John. I was not looking for inspiration. I was actually trying to go back to sleep. I could not get the antics of this sea lion out of my mind, before I knew it I had come up with a rhyme for him.

I enjoyed this as I am an animal lover and really like seals. My only critique is the last line. It doesn't fit the flow or frolicking feel of the poem. Maybe another rhyme like stay or gay(happy) Just my two cents. Over all, cute poem. Keep up the nice work!

Thank you Douglas. I am not making excuses, but I did a minimum number of edits on this one as it was not meant to be taken seriously and therefore not as carefully written as much of my work is.
