You remind those who might not be familiar with the sea that two worlds often coexist in the same realm--on the surface a storm can be whipping up the waves, but deep below it an be very calm and serene. This is also a good metaphor for some people. Rod

Thank you for sharing your insights - this could apply to both the ocean and to people. What lies within could surprise us?

A good expression of what goes on under the waves.
While scuba diving, I was always surprised at the tranquility when you reached a certain depth under the waves.
A good picture to set the mood, half of a fantasy nautilus?
Good work,
irish

June,
Yes motion and light do not reach the ocean depths, regardless of the season. You described this wintry calmness in your posting.
Of course I like your Haiku format (-;

Thanks, Mark! Serenity beneath the waves, serenity within our souls. The storms eventually pass. Glad you enjoyed this one..

Your poem has lovely imagery. I especially like the contrast between raging and storming in the first two lines to serenity in the last line. Thanks for sharing.

Love the picture for this one. A nice image in the poem can also be read as a metaphor of serenity in troubled times. Well done and I hope all is well with you.
