Feeling for you. I guess God can help, but in general nature takes its course. I pray though that he will not die on your birthday. That would spoil all future birthdays forever. You captured well the horrid anticipation of the loss. Impossible to prepare for it. Well done.
Best wishes for your entry in the contest.

We humans will go to any extent for our beloved pets, even to the point of asking the All-Mighty to lend a helping hand. And your third line is spot on, a dog's love is as pure as it is ever going to get.

Nice poem, nice request for a birthday.

My daughter has a friend and her dog is not doing well. I guess he is older and has many problems. According to my daughter, the lady friend is going through much stress. I hope both dogs get well. Yes, God can help through prayer, if it is meant to be. Thank you for sharing.

    Carolyn,
Thanks for taking the time to read and review my poem. Dogs are loving companions and it is horrible to see them sick. Some improvement has been noted. Take care.

I hope your dog recovered. I know it broke my heart when the vet told me ours was dying of pancreatitis. I started boiling chicken and scrambling eggs and took them to her in the pet hospital as she would not eat for anyone. She ate for me and recovered, but she does have a chronic illness. Praying gave me guidance. Best wishes.

    Carol,
It is a horrible time when your dog is sick. You obviously did a great job with yours but the time must come I guess. Thanks for liking the poem.

We are competing against each other so I'm going to go with 1 star. Kidding! Seriously I hope that your dog isn't really sick. That can be so heartbreaking. Good luck in the contest. I hope you get second. ;)

Whew! I could personally relate to this poem. I have a 14-year-old dog with several medical issues. The text is relatable to most dog owners. The visual is great, but because it is so large, I would increase the font size to make the text more prominent. If the contest is not over, good luck in it.

Thanks for taking time to read and review my contest entry. Also for the tip on the font .Yes visual is great .Fan Art is a great resource. Yes I have certainly experienced the awful moment of a very sick dog, as the poem relates. Not a good time.
Take care and all the best.

I can understand not wanting to lose your dog. It must be even worse on your birthday. Is that your dog in the picture? If so, he is adorable. Thank you for sharing this poem, and best wishes to you.

Thanks for your review. The picture is not of my dog but somewhat similar. A sad time but all is good now. Take care and have a great day.

Dear Mystery Dog-Lover,

This leaves me asking myself a couple or three questions:
1.) Is this a true story? (--and--)
2.) Is your dog truly sick?
3.) Is it really your birthday?

It is a pretty sad little poem, though I ADORE the fact that you know right where to go for help. *smile*

Your word count is perfect, at exactly 15 words. You've made nice use of your space and I love, love, LOVE that image. *smile* Which means the whole presentation is really nice to look at AND to read, of course.

Thank you and good luck!

    Robyn,
Thanks for liking my poem and the illustration expecially. The story is true in that my dog was sick and was somewhat similar to the one shown in the illustration. However, my birthday was not related to the timing of the illness.
You obviously love dogs. They are great. Stay safe.
Unfortunately, my dog is now another dog.
    Regards
