Your poem opines about society's problems today. I am 65 and the world was a much simpler, safer place when I was young.

yes these questions seem to constantly haunt us these days about the state of our world and how we are treating the planet 'Dear Lord, please save our fractured souls' is a plea we hope the Lord will hear.

One can get an anxiety attack when you think about all that goes on the world. It gives you the out of controll spiral feeling. Wars have been around since the ages. Disease, poverty and crimes against humanity as well. And as you stated faith will help see you through. That and a change within your own small piece of the world started by you. How true, "we will never reach our stated goals" with climate change deniers, it is true.

It is true, the world is in a terrible state. We are beset by mistrust and hate. poverty feeds the greed of many. Those with means pity the needy, but do little to help them. Politicians feed them promises they have no intention of filling. To do something to help them, they seem unwilling. It must be true, we are going to hell in a hand basket.

Yes, Jay, the world is indeed a difficult place to be for so many. We are threatened with war, the climate is not in a good shape either. Indeed, as you say, can we ever recover. Only time will show.

Things did improve during lockdown and no planes were flying or car being driven to help clear some of the pollution destroying our planet. But we are back in full force again and the climate changes are getting worse. I don't know what it will take to put things back to the way it should be. It won't get better in what's left of our lifetime, Jay. So sad. This is a well written poem of a very important topic. Well done! :)) Sandra xx
