There is more to writing than meets the eye.bigginin, middle, cliamax and end, must be strong enough to hold one's attention to the very end so they keep coming back for more!

I agree, One of the secrets to successful writing is to choose a subject that you know something about and make it interesting. No one wants to be bored. If what you write is boring, no one will want to read it, and they may avoid reading anything else that you write in the future.

Amen to your poem. Writing it and sticking with it is not that easy. I have just released Stories of the Dreamtime. I wrote 16 chapters way back in 2015 - Americans love stories of our culture. K xx

You have given some excellent advice in this ultra-concise poem. You're right. If the writer doesn't make the characters seem real and creates a disjointed plot, the result won't be a best seller!

These are the basics, for sure! One needs a theme, a through line from beginning to end, enough action and description to entice the reader, characters we either love, or love to hate...
I haven't come close to writing good prose, but I'll keep this in mind!

Another fine poem, Raul----if only i could heed your words----I wrote a novel years ago, the only one for me, usually it's all I can do to manage more that one or two pages before I'm looking to end it, but haven't sent it out, too afraid I'll be told it sucks.
