Beautiful picture and well-chosen words to describe the changes in he season. I love that last verse:
"For time will bring the Autumn change,
what winter's shadows re-arrange.
So do not fret when Autumn leaves,
reflect the summer's harvest sheaves."

I enjoyed this post, Roy :) It reminds me of the new season of fall and all the beauty it brings. For me, fall means a fresh start and new beginnings. Time to reflect on mother nature and all the treasures God has created.
My favorite part:
The tree is master in the field.
Its beauty reigns, its branches shield,
all creatures shelter from the sun.
It's then I know what Christ has done.
Always your fan,
Shana :)

It is true that death should not bring fear to those that know the Lord because death is not the end. We will be resurrected to live in a new state of existence. The changing leaves remind some of death but before they go they are beautiful.

What a great perspective! I love the example of the tree and leaf. Though the leaf dies, the tree lives.
As always, a great Bible verse as inspiration!

Using autumn as a metaphor for life and death is just brilliant.
Very beautifully presented with an artist's eye that draws your reader in.
Blessings,
Mary

What a glorious poem to go with that lovely autumnal picture, Roy. When I was reading your words about the autumn and winter, it stuck me how our lives follow that same route. We are born in the spring, blossom in the summer, crinkle and begin our change in the autumn, and are put to rest in the winter, but then the cycle starts again with our rebirth in Heaven, just as spring bursts with new life. I loved this, my friend. Excellent start to my Sunday morning. Love and hugs, Sandra. xxx

Roy,
I waited until today to comment on your awesome poem, so I could give a a well/deserved six stars.
I like 'death had set sin's sun'
and the image it elicits.
Your last stanza is stellar.
As always, I hope this note finds you well.
Wonderful work, Roy.
Blessings,
Cindy
