I have heard wind harps before. They emit a very mournful, emptiness of a tune. Does this verse refer to a nursery being empty because of a baby's death, thus the mournfully sad cry of the wind harp?

Please say no.

Yes, the baby is dead. But it could also be about a baby grown up and out of the house. It's up to the reader.

Thank you very much for your time and kind review and helpfull feedback.

Another fine poem, Gypsy...albeit a sad one....as a couple who were unable to have a child for reasons beyond our control when we were married, I feel the pain of this poem

This very short poem brings up so many different emotions, the vacant nursery, ouch! I had never heard of wind harps. Thank you for not only sharing this poem with us but giving me an education.

That's cool! I never heard a "wind harp" - I've seen chimes on doors that could be played by the wind but not something like that. But the final line makes me feel sad as either the baby grew up or is no longer there.

Yes, it's a bitter sweet poem. Either one could be true. Thank you very much, Helen. Have a wonderful weekend, big sister. Love you.

Really? I got to be this old and didn't know about wind harps! I was off on YouTube and other sites listening to them. "Ethereal" is the right word!

Here's one link:

(I know, why so long, right?)

I found one on sale on eBay for $1,200!

(No worries, there are cheaper ones elsewhere...)

The "vacant" nursery" line puts a whole other spin on this...

You bring up so many emotions!

    I've found a YouTube recording...

I'm about to listen to it as I fall to sleep!

Yikes. How'd it get to be 2:53 AM?

This was beautiful, Gypsy and the picture was amazing. How can one abandon a nursery? There was something magical about the area, and the windchime was there for all to listen to. Blessed Be n Hugs!

What an incredible instrument Gypsy, I've heard wind chimes, and scripture tells us that the wind is God's messengers, and the wind harp probably plays universal Melodies, as does the wind chimes. Beautifully written, blessings Roy.

Love this poem and the presentation is on point. The text is large and easy to read and understand. The visual is perfect. I would love to own a wind harp. This was interesting. Thanks for sharing.

You are welcome. I presently have a Tibetan hand-hammered singing bowl. I love it.
