A very inspiring post, dear friend :) I agree with this completely. It's a shame that we see judgment wherever we go. I was raised in a home where there was prejudice. I swore I would never raise my child that way. My son to this day treats every person the same, no matter the color of their skin, their religion, or if they're poor or rich. He was taught to see into a person's heart.

Thank you for sharing here.
Always your fan,
Shana :)

Prejudice has the power to bring down the strongest man. One of the evilest traits of mankind.

P1, s2: (that's) should be (that are) to agree with (epitaphs)
P2, s1: (men) should be (man) to agree with (singly)
P4, s1: Does this line suggest that if a man is poor, he is necessarily prejudiced?

I don't see how you could go wrong teaching children what the Bible says is the what everything important hangs on. The love of God and the love of others as much as yourself. That would eliminate all prejudice.

Love for the Lord and for one's neighbour would indeed go a long way to solving the world's problems. But it's always a question of submission, and the majority are not willing to submit to either of these ways of life, which should go hand in hand, preferring their own independence and "freedom". Thoughtfully written.

There is nothing wrong with loving one's neighbour, Roy but I think people have forgotten how ro accept people for who they are. My dad always said"do unto others" etc. It's a good life rule. Well said Roy. Cheers

Again, a well-written poem. What's wrong with it is only that certain inherent biases persist and those who most need to "love one's neighbor as oneself" are often too caught up in earthly prejudice and political firestorms to open their eyes and heart to solving all issues...

By one estimate, there are 917 active "hate groups" in the USA today --
I'm not taking into account those in other countries.

I'm all for your philosophy. I believe in it. Where to begin changing minds and hearts? Will lack of dialogue help?

Absolutely beautiful and spot on. Even if people do not follow Christ, just following that commandment out of Luke would solve so many of the world's ills. Instead, so many determendly hang onto a hate that they don't even understand. There's no reason for it except just to hate. It's a sad statement of humanity. Hopefully,, your poem will touch a heart with new insight.
Blessings and thank you,
Deb

Sadly, these are fewer and fewer places where love for one's neighbor and tolerance are being taught. Parents need to be especially vigilant about what is being taught in schools. As for non-believers (Bless their souls), they can still love their neighbor, a basic requirement for any belief or creed in any civilization!

There is nothing wrong with loving your neighbor as yourself. God created all of us as His children. Thank you for sharing this poem with us. I enjoyed reading. I simply don't understand how people can feel they are better than others.

This was utterly beautiful, Roy. Once again you are correct. There should be no prejudice, no racism and only the loving of our neighbor where ever they are. Blessings!
