This was one interesting read. Spent the night with Kitty Wells, wow! I had something similar occur when I was young, but I won't call his name, even though he's no longer with the living. It was only a passionate kiss, and he was tipsy, so he probably wouldn't have remembered anyway.

Wow! You might not have got the job, but you went back home with a fantastic memory! You truly did sleep with Kitty ... and her husband!!! Lol. I'm sure you mother loved the signed photo of them both, and I'm sure yours took pride of place amongst others. I really enjoyed reading this one, Terry. How did you tell Zoe that you slept with another woman?!!! LOL. :)) Sandra xx

Love your story, and the way you led into it. Very skilfully done, writing about your encounter with her. (Must confess to not knowing who she was, sorry, but I at least do now, and how significant your experience was). Great story, well written.

Your matter of fact way of telling a story is so wonderful. You make a regular story exciting and interesting. Though I have never heard of Kitty Wells (not a country music fan) I can only imagine the excitement of spending time with a celebrity. Well written. Gretchen

Was your meeting with Kitty after she had made her big hit "It wasn't God ..." Did you know of the song? That was quite a while ago so be careful, you are going to age yourself.

P1, s8: Add a comma after (So) use a comma as a pause to set off the introductory word, (So)
P4, s3: (fiance) should be (fiancee) fiancé = a man who is engaged to be married fiancée = a woman who is engaged to be married

After "Kitty Wells Sang"
P6, s2: (take off) should be (take-off or takeoff) Hyphen or one word.

No matter what they say about number 13, it certainly was not your number, other than for the good fortune of meeting Kitty Wells.

Great story Terry. Sounds realistic and like it really could have happened.

Gary, thank you for reading and the suggested edits, I will take care of them. I was talking about you yesterday to another FS member about how much we both appreciate you.

The story is 100% true, I was six when Kitty's song hit number 1. When I met her, she was 58 and I was 31.

    Thanks, Terry.

I like the idea that you got to meet Kitty Wells and Johnnie. What a high-class seat you must have had on the plane. I would have taken out the pencil and paper, too, classical music is wonderful to listen to.

It seems you brushed shoulders (or slept) with a number of celebrities in your days, Terry. Of course the heading grabbed my attention, but knowing you, I didn't think it was in the sense inferred. lol Thanks for the chuckle.

Kitty Wells and Me is a cleverly presented interesting story about one of those chance meetings one has with famous people. I once got onto a flight from Philly to Phoenix, and in first class, a man stepped into the aisle, blocking my way... I am six feet tall, but I was looking into his chest. lifting my eyes. I saw a black man with a ball cap pulled low over his eyes, but not so I could not recognize Charles Barkley. I used to live in Leeds, Alabama while serving as an agent for the FBI in Birmingham. Leeds is Barkley's hometown. I told him, "I used to live in Leeds, AL." He replied, "Really? How you doin'?" he extended a huge paw to shake hands.

Yay! Another great one! My gosh, you certainly led a remarkable life. What an awesome story, where yes, the inconvenience of plane having mechanical issues, delayed flights, free drinks. Oops that goes on the pro side. Holy cow that was one cool experience to spend that time with them that night. It must have made everything seem worth it. Reminds me of a story about my parents and Hank Snow who was touring with Roy Druske, who was The Godfather to a cousin of mine. I cannot remember how that came about, or if he was a relative on the other side, but they got to hang out at a party after the concert. You don't have a collection of old albums of especially Kitty Wells do you. I.have an autographed album of hers that I would love to give you. She may have even been with them that night. Anyway I have tons of albums from that era and many are autographed.
If your interested!?! Sorry, I always seem to have a relevant story but you sparked those wonderful memories for me. Thanks for the awesome read my friend!

Debi, thank you for reading my story. Thank you for the offer of the albums, but I got rid of mine many years ago. I am too old to start a new collection. But you have something of value, or you could donate them to a charity for selling. Terry.

I figured that, but just had to offer just in case. I did love your story and I promise that next time I will not be able to relate, but will totally enjoy! Lol!

This was fun! I remember the name, but not more than that... Still, nice title and way to tease us into the story! Although honestly? You don't seem like the type to tell tales out of school, and you sure don't seem like someone who would have "stepped out" or "flown around" on Zoe!

My brother once flew a red eye from NYC to LA... a convoluted story that ended up with him being bumped up to first class and enjoying a long fun conversation and a few drinks with Stevie Nicks. It's funnier as the years go by...he seems to add more and more to the story...

Still, it was a brush with a star, and he's fondly remembered it ever since!

I paused this review to go to YouTube and listen to Kitty sing that song.
So glad I did!

Karenina
