Four letters mean live life, make love, don't hate. That is the "story of our lives." Jenny. :) Yet, in the mixed-up world we live in, the alphabet soup is composed of different letters. But I don't know how to spell. This is a good entry for the 5-7-5 Poetry Contest. Thank you for sharing.

Oh yes indeed, there's just four letters, but love means a wide variety of things to many people, unfortunately we only have one word for love, where the Ancient Greek has about eight, categorised, and apparently Indonesian does. Well done, blessings Roy

I love the fact that your poem gave a nod to alphabet soup. It makes me think of innocence which makes me think of pure love. Joy and love go hand in hand. Lovely sentiments.

Good to see you back again. I was hoping everything was okay with you.
I like this one. To me the soup indicates lots of components and many variations, which is what love brings to our lives, with the side product of joy. Hopefully this is the story of our lives. Well written, very thoughtful.

This tiny poem captures the importance and value of this four letter word so well in just those seventeen syllables. It is comparatively easy to write within a syllabic restriction but to say something worthwhile at the same time is rather more difficult.

This is a sweetly powerful little 5-7-5 poem that has a metaphor right in the middle to help define the importance of Love, which the photo illustrates. Caught some 's' alliteration with 'soup' near 'story' and some ending 'L' alliteration with 'letters' and 'lives.' Good luck in that contest.
