Time to heal, if you'v e endured a solution to the problem. but what kind of shots? Before surgery, did you get fused discs? My mom did and it really helped her pain. I was told that they wouldn't do it to me cause I was a smoker. go figure. thxs for this review, Barb

They have micro back surgery you might check into the it is something new they came out with.prayers for you all.

Hi Lori,
guess there's nothing like a true experience to allow one's creative juices to flow?
I love how your back is screaming out to you like that voice that tells you enough's, enough... with one shot I'll be back to some kind of level of sanity. Yes, I can thoroughly relate!
I reckon, add a couple of more verses and a chorus and you'd have a country song, as it reads a little lyrical and melodic.
The way I feel after today's effort, my spine could do with something to soothe the savage beast... but I try to stay away from injections. They may work for a time, but the side effects and long-term contradictions to what they are supposed to be giving one is just not worth the relief for me... and I do say me. Everyone to their own relief methods... pain sucks, lack of mobility sucks... hell getting older sucks.
Great trio of 3-6-9 poem Lori and all the very best wishes for this contest Sis.
With our thoughts we create...
A nerve blocker.
Kind regards,
James.

lol we create the nerve blocker!!!! and if we don't we will not give up trying to find it. I still find, that which is free, icing on and off all day, a good, hard massage then a back rub cream like heat - A535 or not so hot - icy hot, well not 100% free but manageable. I'll tell ya, these facet joint, (between the corners of the 2 discs where X marks the spot on one side, then the other side) injections, are almost as bad as labor pain. I had 2 on each side the same appointment and I was clenching my fist so hard that the next day when I picked up 2 plastic shopping bags, within 10 minutes while sitting on my couch, my veins on the inside of the upper wrist blew up and I had a huge blackened, lumpy bruise on my arm that took over 2 weeks to heal. Now that's an appointment that I totally struggle with to make happen.
But there are more simplistic treatments to try,
like water injections into the muscle to swell it up, not the bone, it can relieve a bit from the larger muscle spreading out the inflammation, and lessening the possible pinched nerves. if that makes sense to you. The only reason I'm going back to the bone injections with a combo of steroids, is, they are the only treatment that will work after a few times. they pump steroids between your discs that build up between them and create the lost cushion, hence no nerves pinching or inflamed muscles trying to overcome the rubbing discs. or muscles over compensating on one side, leaving you to stand like the leaning tower of Pizza.
That's just Dr. Lori's personal point of view. Eventually you will read up on my safety tip for you and your ladder. From the deepest part of my heart, I don't wish you any harm from a fall on your head.
And I totally agree with "it" - getting older sucks!!! Gramma and Grampa never even hinted what older would be like, not a thing, not ever.
Thinking "it" could be a hit on a t-shirt, but that would appear to be, too negative, but not for night wear!! lol
so, bro, take care and get that ice, hands and hot rub on and feel a bit of relief.
Thxs for your awesome review and I hope you back read some, I need your opinions on my work, Please!!!!!!!
lulube You know, I completely sign lulube now not Lori, even signed off to my daughter, lulube instead of mom. dah

I really love the song-like nature of this poem, as well as the personification of the speaker's own back. All of it together just creates this really interesting internal conflict. Overall a really descriptive and well-written poem! Nicely done.
