You capture a moment when the earth's vitality asserts itself in spite of all that human beings do to destroy the earth. We feel humble, because we must consider that we survive in spite of ourselves.

Gypsy,
Do like your double meaning for 'mourning'. For me, the middle line is the best phrasing for your poem. Like info about (peace) lily.

God Bless Ukraine. I see the masses of Russians trying to demonstrate and/or flee the country now that madman Putin has called up 300,000 more troops. HE is the darkness and cold! I pray for peace ~ I think Vlad would need to reconsider his "employment" -- with MUCH encouragement from the people of his country! Alas, he threatens nuclear action. Mad man!

Putin is crazy and so evil. So many good people die too soon while he still lives. But karma is a batch. Hopefully the war will be over soon.
Love you ❤️

Karma....heck yes. Let's hope it kicks him in the buttocks soon!

I think you've made great progress in this form and you have this down now. you have the perfect balance, the nature imagery, and the wonderful transcendent epiphany moment. It's all there. I think it's a great poem expressing this feeling that there is life after death, hope after despair. Nice job with this one. estory

A brilliant presentation in the picture and in words.
You use Mourning instead of morning to make your message clear. Here a single peace lily is in the midst of the rubble; a country president who stands up against the Russian Bear.
Very powerful and well done.

Another fine poem, Gypsy----and amid horrendous conditions, life somehow survives. Against all odds, Ukraine survives and I'd argue it's Putin who's in trouble

I've alway thought that God will make constant signs of grief and yet hope, in the natural things around us, His grief for the state of people is a marvellous way of communicating that very thing, beautifully written Gypsy, blessings Roy

I like the juxtaposition between mourning and morning. Your picture supports your position well. Ten to see a lily insist on sprouting, regardless of the conditions, beautiful.

-Thank you for sharing the artwork, notes, and poem, Gypsy.
-I had read about the missile strikes, but at that time, there wasn't loss of power.
-I am very saddened to hear this. The Ukrainian people have been so resilient, but how do they overcome this? I hope there are some answers and solutions to this particular issue.
-You wrote a very good poem for them, and I am pray for peace every night.

The first two lines of this poem flow and connect well. The last line says
it all! Thank you for the author's notes - thank you for the history. I
pondered on the situation in Ukraine - may peace happen for them! The artwork is awesome and goes well with the theme and words of this poem.
Gypsy, hope you are doing well....Maria
