What a poignant poem! It has a good message. The rhyme scheme is consistent throughout the poem. The text is large and easy to read. The visual fits well. In 2006, I lost my only child in a falling accident. Please try to find your son and make amends. Life is too fragile to be without someone like your child. It's never too late for I am sorry, but that can change in the bat of an eye. I know too well. Thanks for sharing your poem.

So sorry for the late response. We were traveling and then both my husband and I came down with Covid. We are on the mend but still exhausted.
Thank you for your kind review. I am so sorry for the loss of your child Sandra. I can't imagine that pain. As long as my son and I are alive, there is hope of a reconciliation. Thank you for suggestion to try to make amends with him. My efforts seem to fall on deaf ears but I will keep trying as long as I have breath.

    Blessings

This is a very well written poem you have penned. You used very good descriptive words. I love the song by James Taylor. Great lyrics. I've had many friends that have moved on and family that have died. Today is not like it used to be, but every day is different. Thanks for sharing. love and blessings, Teri

This was an incredibly moving poem. The heartbreak of losing friends either through distance or death is hard to accept. This poem evoked the same feelings as that James Taylor song. Sweet memories and bittersweet endings. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

I've always loved that James Taylor song and you reference it well in your poem. I'm sorry to learn about your son's absence and I hope he will contact you soon. I think you covered that sense of longing and yearning for our missing loved ones. But you leave us more hopeful than Taylor's song because in the end we can look forward to reunion with all in Heaven.

Oh, this poem REALLY resonates with me! I'm seventy; my old high school/college friends and I get together three or four times a year. This was not always the case; for a several years, we had no get-togethers. I cherish them! Your poem is excellent in every respect--very descriptive and moving.

Thank you Janice for your kind and understanding review. I always look forward to get-togethers as well. My 60th class reunion is next weekend and many of our classmates are no longer with us so it's kind of bitter sweet but it was be fun those who do make it.

I remember that song well and can understand why it would inspire you to write this lovely poem. I'm so sorry to read you have an estranged relationship with your son. I hope you can resolve that at some point in time. Nicely written. Regards, Lilly

The author's words are lovely and have a beautiful message. I pondered
on these words and yes, as the author states, I believe those who have gone their separate ways I will see them again. Thank you for the author's notes - the words to the song are beautiful!
The artwork is awesome! Great Poem, Janet!

This is a nicely written poem about grieving for a loss of a good friend. It shows the strength of the relationship that will be missed. I liked the like the last stanza's description of Heaven where we all hope to go. It put the theme song from 'Cheers' in my head
Keep writing and stay healthy

Oh yes indeed, that's a very topical song, one of James Taylor's best, in fact I'm very fond of the performer himself, he's got thst lovely warm, mellow voice that really appeals to me. This is an outstanding poem, I'm so sorry you're estranged from your son, that must hurt, beautifully written Janet, blessings Roy

Six stars were chosen because this topic is near and dear to the Human condition of being. You are a sensitive person to describe it so well. I bet there's not anyone who does not think of someone, they'd like to meet/see again. Sometimes there's a lot of sorrow attached to that. Even a non-Human can be a friend who are missed. Your poem mentions earthly times, that nicely acknowledges there are others. Something that gives hope. The picture is very suitable to the poem. Goodness increases, that you write more.
