Hi Willie, I agree with you up to a point. A tin roof is far to noisy and too intrusive. I prefer to be close to nature in a boat. The gentle tapping on the deck is rather soothing when you're underneath in the cabin, feeling close to the elements and nature. I liked your poem a lot. Ulla:)))

The rhythm and rhyme of this poem is so relaxing it gives the feeling that all is well. I've never experienced it, but I imagine the steady drops of rain could put one to sleep. Great poem and imagery.

This is a very well written poem about more relaxing sleep hearing the rain and thunder under the tin roof. You used great descriptive words. Thank you for sharing. Blessings, Teri

The tempo of this poem is as relaxing as a gentle rain. I wish you'd included more sound description, especially as it relates to a tin roof. The sound of a soft rain on a tin roof, juxtaposed to the sound of a hard rain on the same location and the effect those sounds produce could be reproduced in poetry with alliteration, I think. The tempo of the rhyme could also change with the nature of the storm. Thunder and lightening accompanying a hard rain causes a quickening of emotion and seems less contemplative even in shelter. As a reader I think it would add depth to the experience of the poem as well as music. I am not a poet, so not suggesting you should do it, just something I wish you'd tried. I enjoyed reading the poem, however, and found it sweetly comforting.

I really enjoyed the author's words! They are descriptive and creative as they gave a of sense to the reader of relaxation, safeness and all is well. I could almost here the rain on the tin roof! The poem flows and connects well. The artwork is awesome! Thank you for the author's note - they speak volumes!
