the time it would take...not a chance...I feel
she could find the time...but sitting still is
not in her daily schedule...LOL...

Thank you. Do not abandon hope, If your granddaughter is young enough, she has plenty of time to take writing seriously. My advice is to not give her juicy tidbits that she can use as fodder for her writing later on.

You probably know that the Hawaiian Mermaid passed away last year from pancreatic cancer. Miss her a lot.. even though we were not together for quite some time her memory lives on with her work that she had posted here.
Hope to get my muse back and do some more "Words of Wizdumb " that I can share once again.

Oh My Dear God. I had not heard from you in such a long time, I had just about given uo hope of ever hearing from you again. The news about the Mermaid breaks my heart into. I am sure you and she both knew how much I cared about the two of you. Thanks for reaching out and touching base. It is great to hear from you again.

I live here in Camarillo between Ventura and Thousand Oaks now...Maybe one day we can do a Face to Face and talk about old "verbs and adjectives" Yes broke my heart as well. And YES we both thought a lot of you and considered you one of us even if it was just in cyber space ..we cared !!!

The author's words were very interesting! I thought they could be true! These words made me think of my 5 year old grandson who wants to write a book! I found these words true to being a parent, no one knows what our children will do! This poem is thought provoking!

An entertaining poem! I like the humour in your internal rhyming. It would be intriguing and possibly a little chastening to read what these youngsters say about us. Of course, if it is too damning, you can always respond with some odes about the little toads!

You have mastered a rhyming scheme that I don't believe is even structured or dictated anywhere else. The rhymes appear without introduction, they jump out and surprise the reader. Where did that come from?
The style you have incorporated into this poem makes it really enjoyable to read and it still flows along like a formalized poem. The words are thought-provoking. I know my son has played with poetry, but he has never shared it with me. I guess I may never know.

Thank you so much. A secret I will now reveal. This poem was inspired by the Country song, "Mamas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys" It at first was almost a carbon copy, but over time it morphed into its current form.
