Now this writing I understand. It is very similar to the one I wrote. Four years of sitting on the pines wanting the coach (the girl) to let me play the game. Never happened, and though she was always smiling, and toying with me, (she was a tease) 1460 days passed and I never got on the field.

Way too long ago to line. Beside, I found someone who accepted me unconditionally.

Very nice poem with great rhyme and meter. Oh yes, the crushes we had in school! I remember how shy I was too. And would die if the guy knew. Wonderful job and good luck.

A lovely poem of unrequited love, an the reader can certainly feel the angst, the anticipation, and then the bitter disappointment. Well written. Best wishes for your entry in the contest.

This is a very well written poem you have penned for the Unrequited Love writing prompt. You used very good descriptive words and very good imagery from the art work you chose. I was shy in school also. I am not shy now, but I didn't talk to the guys or very much to the girls either. Best wishes in the contest. love and blessings, teri

Thank you for this thoughtful review and for the member cent pumps. School was a difficult time for me, with my social anxiety and I eventually dropped out( actually kicked out for never going ). After I met my future husband he encouraged me to get my GED and go to college. Life got better. I'm glad it got better for you as well. Thanks again.:)

Puppy Love? No, unrequited love. It seems I remember waking up to the fact there were some pretty dreamy boys on the basketball team. Of course at that age we are too young and awkward to do any more than dream. LOL Well done,Sharon. Nancy:)

He was not meant to be. Your husband is your soulmate. Things happen for a reason. I believe our lives are predestined. God knew who was right for you. It was not a coincidence that you and your husband were drawn together. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you, I definitely agree with you. When I was 13 though, I thought for sure I'd marry David Cassidy of The Partridge Family...lol. Thanks again.

This is a well crafted poem structurally. Context or story wise. It leaves questions. If Tim never knew your feelings was it unrequited love? Also, you go from love to crush, to knowing nothing of love, to we never spoke. just saying.
Knew nothing of love, but he gave me a rush,
- who knew nothing of love? You, Tim or both. (I, He, or We)

Oh my, puppy love hurts so bad, especially if you are too shy to try to do anything about it. That's exactly how I was all the way through high school. There were even a couple of girls who came right up to me and told me they liked me, but I didn't get it, I just let it pass by. So glad those years are behind me and I, too, have found my one true "pull-apart", my one true love.
A very cool poem, the rhyming is great, and it flows very nicely. And most of all, it hits on something that I am sure most or at least many of us have experienced at least once or twice in our young lives.
