This was quite witty and well-written. Here is review number twenty-six. Should send it over the top.
Do you really have that Hank Aaron card? No chance.
Good stuff. Let's see what else we can find.

Thank you for getting it to 26. I know Karenia looks for those that stop at 25, so thank you. I have a signed program by Hammerin' Hank. Terry.

This is so touching and sweet. I love how you bring the most precious items together at the end for your bittersweet moment. A lovely way to write this type of text. It warmed my heartstrings. Cheers!

I loved your selections of what to grab in case of a house fire. I adore these contests. They make you think of things you wouldn't ordinarily think about. I would grab my laptop, study Bible and the picture album of my children.

An eclectic group of objects, and hence your story is interesting and different. Your story is well written and the reason for your choices is clear. Best wishes for your entry in the contest.

Hello fellow writer a good day to you. I hope this review finds you well. As a poet/writer it is always interesting to see the different takes on these contest/writing prompts. I think your take is definitely a good one. Hopefully so will others, good job and good luck in the contest.

Thank you for reading and reviewing.
Comment from John Ciarmello
I would have done exactly what you mentioned here, but I would have grabbed the $350 bottle of whiskey first and had a drink while watching the house burn. Toward the end of the bottle, you wouldn't have cared about the rest of the stuff. I'm just saying. Best, JohnC

John, LOL, I love your review, Thank you!
Comment from Carolyn Dooley
It sounds like you made some great choices on what to save. You can replace most all material things. The things you would grab can not be replaced. Yes, and a few drinks from that bottle of bourbon would be a great choice for the moment. Thank you for sharing.

Hi there,
These certainly wouldn't be my first choice of things to save but playing the Bible card is always good for a vote or two!
Best of luck to you

Thank you for reading and reviewing. Votes aside, it is an important item. It is the only thing left that has my mother's handwriting.
Comment from Thomas Blanks
It is very interesting the value guys place on a wool jacket with leather sleeves and chenille patches, while their wives view the same item as clutter. Alas! My jacket was de-cluttered years ago, but not of my doing. However, we still have her Barbie dolls! Hmmm.

Hello Friend,
Nice piece of General Fiction having captivating flow throughout from the very beginning up to the end, and presenting live description of a house on fire and the efforts for saving the most cherished/priceless items - All of your wife's handwritten recipes and some of her mother's recipes plus all the clippings with recipes from newspapers and magazines in the file.
The last paragraph is particularly noteworthy.
BEST OF LUCK in the contest.
