The imagery in this free verse is powerful - capturing the deep emotions of loss and mourning. Mourning over the carcass of what used to be. Now that hopes and dreams have become dust in the wind.

I like your free verse poem - good picture presentation - picture of sadness - poem has excellent flow and a good use of metaphor's describing the perception of a young woman - expressing her thoughts of the future without hope, anticipating a future without her other - women - the masters of emotion - will certainly be in touch with the this theme on a deeper level. Good Job.

This was beautifully well done, Gypsy. The picture was purely delightful. Your words of the free verse were magnificent in that they explained how one felt as one closed the door. Great job, really enjoyed. Blessed be n hugs!

That's such a sad poem as it describes the loss of a love relationship and the memories of a happy, loving couple is buried like summer's warmth in winter. Great use of alliteration and onomatopoeia and personification in your free verse!

Thank you very much, big sister (*÷*) I'm happy you like it. From 10 to 5 years ago, I was very sad for my divorce and I pull emotions from my own experience...enbelished for poetic effect. I grieved for 5 years. I'm finally over him. I thought he was the one to share my life till we died but he had othe plans. I think writing is therapeutic.

    Thank you very, big sister.

    Love you ❤️

Your poem exemplifies Dr Seuss' quote. Everything comes to an end, well almost everything. But we cannot dwell on the end, we must always look forward to a new beginning.

Very nice verse Gypsy.

This beautifully written poem is extremely emotional. I agree with Dr. Suess. Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened. I think those are perfect words to live by.

It is not easy to pick up parts of a broken human heart. It is not like a puzzle that can be fit together by cardboard parts. A broken heart cannot be seen with the human eye. It takes time to pick yourself up. Thank you for sharing.

MariVal,
It sounds like this relationship, on the man's part at least, was based on lust and not love. She sees the relationship flying away like dust in the wind when he leaves. I think she will get over him in time.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Joan
