Sounds like an interesting place to visit, with its own history and folklore. Your story is well-written, and has clear detail. Best wishes for your entry i the contest.

I did not know there were "castles" in the US and you have introduced us to "Craig Castle" in Connecticut. I like that you give us some theories about its construction as well as what it meant to the local residents.
Best wishes in the contest!

This short story was descriptive, well-written, and informative--lacking grammatical and spelling errors. It was a pleasure to read; the picture added a lot to the story.
Best wishes.

I really enjoyed your description of the tower and the potted history to give us some context and sense of place. The bit about the road made me smile. There's a road here in the UK called the knot pass that's a 1 in 3 gradient, 1 in 2 on the corners. I remember it being terrifying in my dad's Cortina mark 1 when I was young!

I think you do a good job describing the place and it's history or possible inspiration or it's design. You also, go into a bit on personal aspect and use of the place from your past.
Good luck in the contest.
