I'm so glad to read this and agree with you about our country's decline and the solution. "Make America Great Again" is a wonderful goal and admirable.
I wasn't so sure about this contest by the posts written by the sponsor. Yours is refreshing and encouraging. I'm relieved to find a patriotic friend.

well written piece with a definite point of view.
Sadly, it's too far gone. Democracy is just as corrupt a system as socialism or communism (small c intentional). The entire election system is corrupted.
The only way to get honest people elected is to make sure they are neither politicians nor business men. Anything else and folk are just kidding themselves. All lobbyists need to be abolished.
Closing the borders, I feel, is rather contradictory to the times when the US may have actually been great. Just saying.

I agree with all you say, and I don't advocate keeping people out of our country, I just want then to come in through the proper channels. Its what our ancestors did and we should return to thst, rather then having anyone could over unvetted. Thanks so much for reading my poem.

For me I have to disagree with everything you just posted....I will however compliment your posting...You have used rhymed quatrain verses, and your rhyming was very well done...You and I will always differ, and that's why this country will never be great again.
The past cannot be forgotten, but our future can be made whole if we admit to our mistakes, and move on...Trump may have been good for you, but lies, demands, the calling of names, and the actual disrespect for the law of the land isn't good for anyone.
No I'm not a Democrat, in fact I don't vote at all. but I do obey the laws of this land..those that I believe in and even those that I don't.
Thanks for sharing, I'm sure you will find many others that will agree with you, but we still have freedom and that goes for all of us..

I appreciate and respect your viewpoint on things. I will say that just because we disagree, it doesn't means we'll never have a great country. We just need to find some middle ground and come to a compromise. I think we can do it. Thanks so much for taking the time to read my poem. :)
