I hate it when that happens. I'm lucky if I recognize someone looking directly at them so I have no business calling out to someone I "think" I recognized. But I think it may be a good way to make new friends.

Cute poem. Good rhyming and tempo.

What movie was it that said, "It could happen to you." Guess it did. ........................................................................................................................................................

This has happened to me more than once, so I can relate to your words. Sometimes being social can be a problem, but I would rather be social than not. Everything has a price.

Clever, and that can so easily happen! I think the best thing is then to point to some-one a little further away, and indicate you were calling to them. Best wishes for you entry. I like your Limerick format for this, a good choice.

It has happened to me too often, and I've had people speak to me, then tell me I look exactly like someone else. Thank you for the review.

I like your funny poem! It almost did make me laugh. I like the limerick format. I'm also pleased that you used "were" correctly - many people don't do that! Thank you so much for sharing, and best wishes to you.

I'm sure that this has happened to just about everyone sometime in their life. I've also been on the receiving end when someone thinks I'm someone they know. I was once in the lingerie depart if a K-Mart, looking at bras, when a man not only surprised me by moving quickly towards me, but said "Aha! Caught you!" Only I wasn't the person he thought I was. He was mortified and just said "oops, not her." And walked away quickly. It took me a moment, but then I chuckled at his embarrassment, knowing I've done something equally embarrassing. Good luck in the contest!

OH, yes! There have been so many mis-sent greetings I wished I could call back. There are more dopelganger backs, I'm sure, out there than dopelganger faces. LOL, is what you made me do with your poem. Good luck with the contest.

Red Face presents an embarrassing situation in the form of a limerick.
"Sorry, I'm not a creep, just thought you were someone else. That's all! Now I'm leaving - walking away."
