Uh, I read the rules: real or fiction OR a combo of both real and fiction. Someone should have a chat with the qualification committee! Me thinks, perhaps, a rule hath been stretched to the moon.
Good work.
And good luck in the contest.

Lol. Yeah, I chose to go with the fiction aspect. Thank you for the great review, Wayne. I really appreciate the stars and good luck wishes, friend.

You took that Fiction thing right to the limit didn't you. A delightful frog and witch story with a classic ending.

Para 1, 4th sentence: I THINK (Wildewich) should be (Wildwich) If it is the real location in France anyway.
Para 7, 1st sentence: I THINK (Wildewich) should be (Wildwich) but by now I am getting the gist of the tale and it probably really doesn't matter, since it is a fun fiction tale.

Cute, borrowed from Oz. it works nicely here.

Really fun, fantastical story.

Lol. Yeah, I put in the author notes to not bother looking up Wildewich because it wasn't a real place. I was just putting a silly tongue twister in there for another little splash of humor. I love throwing my own brand of ridiculousness into fiction contests whenever I can. Ha.

Thank you for the great review and stars, Gary. I'm glad you liked this silly piece. I appreciate it, friend. Have yourself a great night.

Great story. I especially loved the way the Wildewich woods witch obviously got her spell wrong and created something capable of destroing her - mistakes like that happen sometimes. Worthy of a six. Kate xx
PS formatting was fine for me - I think it's all these folks with snazzy new computers that have problems

Lol. Yeah, my computer has a few years on it, that's for sure. Haha. It looks fine for me too. Who knows? Thank you for the fantastic review and big six offer, Kate. I really couldn't come up with a reason why she'd make his frog humongous. What happened is, I saw an add for Paintshop Pro on here and the picture they had was of a giant fish by a castle. I thought that was a pretty cool idea so I did the same thing with my art program but with the frog. I wanted to use the picture for something but wasn't sure what for. Then I saw this contest and said why not. Haha. So a giant frog it was. I appreciate the gracious stars and the stop by, Kate. Thank you again.

I spotted this on the ticker. The title "Ferdinand" reeled me right in. What a ride!

I went through numerous pet turtles as a kid. So I understand being attached to little green things.

Your story is, indeed, silly but I really enjoyed it. It flows beautifully and is well written. Your last paragraph was the best part of this humorous tale for me. Pet deposit...too damn funny.

Your accompanying art fits this well. Love these little tree frogs. Their feet are so cute.

Good luck in the booth. I think this will do well.

Wow, thank you so much for the great review and giant sixer, Lynda. I had a few turtles along the way as well. Lol. Yeah, I couldn't just end it on the ride home. I had to add one more silly joke in there. I dearly appreciate the gracious stars and good luck wishes, Lynda. I'm glad you liked this ridiculous trip. I hope you have a great day and thank you again.

DrafonSkulls,

Oh my word, where did you find giant flies to feed your new steed? I laughed all the way through this. It is so nonchalant starting and then turns rapidly into the fantastical realm. I almost anticipated a beautiful princess hidden in the frog, but your ending is far more original.

I see FS's editor had its way with you. Your line breaks are all over the map. fixable for easier reading?

Sue

Thank you for the fantastic review, Sue. I hear that a lot. On my end, it all looks fine. I'm not sure how to go about fixing it when it isn't messed up on my computer. I'll give making the font smaller a try and see if that might fix it. Other than that, I haven't a clue.

At first I was going to have him offer the witch to kiss the frog and make it a prince and she did this because he offended her, but went this direction instead. I'm glad you had a couple chuckles along the way, Sue. That's all I was really going for. Thank you again.

    Ron,

I just had a terrible time with advanced editor giving me extra space between lines. I used to be able to back up and enter a new return to get them right, but that didn't work. Then it deleted all the spaces I had inserted between stanzas. I finally had to go back to Basic editor. Aaah, the trials of FanStory software. Do you save in preview mode first? That will give you the best idea of what others see, (I think.)

Oh yeah, I always save it that way first. Maybe I'll give the basic editor a try and see what happens. Yes, I've found a few snags along the way with this new editor. We'll see what happens. Thank you again, Sue.

This is fun and fresh from your creative mind. Wickedly funny at the end with the frog damage surcharge. A super great entry. I'm sure this will win. Sending you my best today as always and best wishes for the upcoming contest,
Sal XOs
