All Day Long
A brief poetic account of telemarketing hell45 total reviews

This is an excellent poem that begins to address the important question of phone harassment. I also hate it. In France, we get endless calls from phone companies, and energy suppliers. They say that I am being overcharged if I don't change to them as a supplier. They won't take no for answer. I especially feel for our vulnerable aged, who become really wound up by all this - it really does scare them and takes their peace of mind. You have written an important poem here. Kate xx

Thank you so much for your kind comments. I felt compelled to finally write something about the plague of unwanted, unsolicited calls that are like trash and graffiti on the telephone.

I feel the same way about telemarketers. The really annoying thing is that when I answer they start talking and won't stop. They talk over my words. So rude.

This is the very reason, I allow all calls that I do not recognize as coming from family or friend to go to my answering machine for deletion.

Yes, and it is a hassle. You never know who is calling. They will call you from your own number. There are calls that come to me with my name or my deceased husband's name. You can not trust those calling on phones. Thank you for sharing.

Oh, this is so familiar to me! I have a remedy for you if the phone you're receiving calls on is your cell phone. Go to your settings and set it the way that you only accept calls from your contacts. That saved me from the frustration you described.
But as I said, that is only valid if your phone is a cell phone.
Excellent social commentary, very well written, most of us can relate to this.

Thank you. sadly all these calls are on my landline.
-
In this case, perhaps change the number for an unlisted one?
-
Also, add you number to a Do.Not Call list - you can Google the steps to do it.AAnd report the offensive numbers as Spam. Good luck.

You did a great job describing the relentless and
intimidating robo calls. Your examples were well-
chosen. I liked the rhymes, the image, and the feeling
I got from reading your poem. I believe most are
recorded calls. However, if you ever get a real person,
and they ask for money, turn that on them. Ask them to
donate to your cause. Or answer. 'Pizza Hut, may I take
your order?"
What happened to the do not call number you could use
Thanks for sharing, Jan
