That was a good picture for your poem. We had to get rid of our land line because at 40 bucks a month all we heard from were telemarketers. I liked the running theme in this. Your rhythm was perfect and it was a fun read. Good work.

This was a fun read and is such a universal aspect of our society. I know it's a pain in the neck, but if you listen to the very end of a recorded telemarketing message, there is usually an "opt out" option. If you push that, it's illegal for them to ever call you again. You just have to deal with each one individually. The humans you can interrupt and say "put me on your don't call list", and they have to, by law, never call you again. Meanwhile, you got a great poem out of it, and I loved your artwork!

I really enjoyed this poem. Yes, I get many of these calls too and they are
so annoying! I found the author's description of these calls right on the
mark! Thank you for the author's notes - I really like the photo chosen,
it is great! Great Poem! Hope you are doing well...Maria

Thank you for sharing this poem with us. I agree. My husband got so tired of telemarketers calling that he yanked our landline out of the wall. We just have our cell phones. We don't get as many on that. I enjoyed reading. I am sure almost everybody can relate to this poem.

Wow! I have felt like doing the same thing, but not wanting to get in trouble with my wife. I have restrained myself. Thank you for a great review, made me laugh out loud.

I get annoyed by these calls as well...but being someone who was once on the opposite side of the phone, I can say that these are just people trying to make a living. If you don't want to recieve calls from a certain company, you just say put me on your do not call list. We are obligated to do just that. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for your review. I don't totally object to the calls. What ticks me off is when from different numbers I get the same exact recorded message, seconds after the preceding call has ended.

I hear you. I'm sick of those constant telemarketers too. You can't ever yell back and them and insult them because more of the calls lately are recordings. The ones the tell you your Amazon card has been charged several thousand and if you didn't make it call this number scare enough people into getting scammed. I wish we could do more than write poems. But yours is good one.

I am a retired help desk rep. I know the value of being calm and using logic to solve problems. When I get a call from a guy with a heavy accent telling me he is calling from windows, I tell them to stop lying. Windows is an application it is not a company name. I then hang up You must never panic. Panicked responses will get you into trouble every time.

Hi, Nomi,

This is such a relatable piece for all of us. They're the only calls I get as well. This poem is well written and comes across to the reader nicely and honestly. Best, JohnC

Thank you John. It does my heart good to know that something I wrote resonates with my readers. My goal in writing and posting is to reach people with something they might actually want to read and enjoy.

Yes, the picture of the look of disgust on President Obama's face is priceless! He obviously got too many phone calls while in the office.
Your poem speaks loud and clear about the telemarketers who constantly annoy us with their spam calls every day. I get them as well and usually hang up as soon as I find out who they are.
I only wish they would call themselves and see how annoying they can be!
Thanks for sharing and for letting me share as well.
Jesse

Thank you for your review. I have a landline which is where all my telemarketing calls go, I simply let my machine pick up the calls, and at the end of the day I delete them all, clearing the slate for the next day's calls.

Great idea! The only problem for me is between their calls, I get legitimate calls I need to answer as well.
Oh well, what can we do?

That picture of the president is, indeed, priceless. Is this not the look we all wear when someone we don't want to talk to phones us? Fortunately, I only have a cell phone and don't receive many of these calls. I do, however, get text messages almost daily from the Republican party asking me to donate (they call me "friend", "patriot", and "Mary S." - I don't know who Mary S. is, but it's not me, and I'm a Democrat).

This is a funny poem - well rhymed and familiar to many of us. I was going to suggest that your third line up read "I wish they'd leave me the hell alone."

Well done - thanks for the laugh and good luck with that phone problem:-)

Thank you so much. My big wish is that the Repuglicons, keep on thinking you and at least a hundred million more who think like you do, are with them, and on election night won't they be surprised.

This poem, All Day Long, is a model for all of us. I came home the other day and had a dozen messages that were all SPAM RISK. We may simply have the number changed.

I refuse, I will just keep deleting these messages everyday.

I tried pulling a dumb listener once, but there is no real person to fool with. They are all AI callers.
