This is a delightful poem and what a great thing it is to watch our kids become parents and face some of our own trials with them as teens. Lol. But I'm still hoping my youngest will marry and get one just like her.

Helen, thank you for such lovely words for my poem. I am so blessed as my children were so good, but they were children, just as we were parents trying to be the best at our job. I have been so blessed that I love the spouses that my children have married and those three couples have given me the most wonderful six grandchildren. My poems are usually based on real life and added fiction for fun. And I thank you my friend for your kind review!

A delightful poem about our lives and ending in the reversal of roles. We have raised our children and have watched them raise theirs. And it is fun to watch how they handle the problems that they created during their youth. And...I can say from that experience that they may not have made the same mistakes we made....they have just made different mistakes. Now, the grands are grown and we eagerly await to see what they have learned and how they will handle their children. Not sure any of them will care for us. I'm think ice flow might be their option of choice. (smile)

This is a witty sarcastic poem about the stages of child goes through. With good parenting, they should become good parents themselves. When kids call there parents geeks, the parents should remember when they did just the same thing. It is just a phase.

The wisdom of our own parents come back to us as we age. Suddenly the mom or dad that we disparaged, now seems as wise as any sage. The points they made we cannot avoid though we may try to swerve. Truth is, we all get the children that we deserve.

In my opinion, an enjoyable read about family life, especially the maturing of children, in almost perfect rhyming rhythm. I found the narration delightfully descriptive in its smoothing aging process to its natural conclusive stage. Best wishes in the contest...
